Today, on Black Balloon Day, we remember and celebrate the lives of all of those we have lost to an overdose.

Overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in The United States. Americans are more likely to die from an overdose than a car accident.

We are thinking of all the families and friends who lost their loved ones, not just today, but every day.

We are excited to announce the speaker for our Inaugural Light Out of Darkness Dinner, Cheryl Lacksonen.

Cheryl lost her son, Christopher, in 2014 to the disease of addiction. She is the host of a podcast, Where'd They Go?, that discusses coping with grief after losing a child. She is also a steadfast advocate for legislation pushing for harsher punishments for dealers involving overdose deaths.

We hope you can join us to hear Cheryl's inspiring story February 9th at The Makoy Center. All funds The Cordella Foundation raises are used to support families who have lost their loved ones to addiction. For more information visit www.thecordellafoundation.org or email [email protected]
