Thank you for visiting the Franklin Park Conservatory farmer’s market last week to kick off National Farmer’s Market Week.

We had fun building a garden in a glove. Families could choose sugar snap peas, popcorn, marigold, sunflower, or pumpkin seeds.
They will see sprouts in one to two weeks after exposure to sunlight and can then be transplanted.

This experiment demonstrates one simple way to grow your own food. You can start in your own kitchen! Land is not required!

The Franklin County Farm Bureau will host agricultural education activities during COSI Farm Days, August 12- 16, 2026. Farm Days hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We will be located on the West side of the COSI building out front under a white tent.

Stop by to learn about agriculture, Farm Bureau programs, and how we're supporting farmers and our communities through interactive, hands-on fun for the whole family.

Participation is free and included with General Admission tickets.

If you would like to volunteer at the Farm Bureau table for any shift, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., please send an email to [email protected] with the date/time that you can assist. Volunteers will receive tickets to come back to COSI, a t-shirt, and lunch.

Activity: Farming in a Glove - Plant the seeds of curiosity! This is a fun, interactive way for kids to explore seeds! They will plant seeds inside a clear glove to take home and watch them sprout and grow over the week.
