Thank you for visiting the Franklin Park Conservatory farmer’s market last week to kick off National Farmer’s Market Week.
We had fun building a garden in a glove. Families could choose sugar snap peas, popcorn, marigold, sunflower, or pumpkin seeds.
They will see sprouts in one to two weeks after exposure to sunlight and can then be transplanted.
This experiment demonstrates one simple way to grow your own food. You can start in your own kitchen! Land is not required!
There are many paths to introduce agriculture to your children. Check out more options here: https://ofbf.org/community/youth-in-agriculture/
