Do you have a teen interested in learning about careers in agriculture? Ohio Farm Bureau offers free one-day, immersive camps that give students grades 9-12 the opportunity to explore the many options. Here is what is coming up:

June 8: Greenville, OH - Tour an ethanol plant, equipment dealerships and greenhouses. Registration closes May 29.

June 9: Lima, OH - Ohio Bar Association, Land O'Lakes and equipment. Registration closes May 30.

June 11: Jackson Center, OH - Tour a meat processing plant. Registration closes June 1.

June 12: Agricultural Communications at Bowling Green. Registration closes June 2.

Like many small farmers, Julianne McCormick isn’t afraid to jump into new opportunities that can expand her income.

So, it’s no surprise that when she won a $1,500 New Farmer Expansion Grant in the spring of 2025 from the Trumbull County Farm Bureau that she began planting, baking and harvesting for her latest project: A farm stand with expansive offerings including baked goods, vegetables, fresh eggs, flower bouquets and lotions. Agriculture has a place for everyone! If you are a high school student with an interest in learning more about agricultural careers, ExploreAg’s free, immersive day camps might be for you!

Check out these two camps in the Columbus area or the weeklong camp in Wooster.

June 30: Columbus, OH - Tour the College of Veterinary Medicine & Hospital, take a deep dive into veterinary work, learn tips for applying to vet school, and more. Registration closes June 20.

July 20: Columbus, OH - Ag Engineering/Technology, use of drones and ATVs to gather data, AI w**d identification, and application of w**d-only removal. Registration closes July 10.
