Earlier this week, we showed our support by attending the High Point Police Department Memorial Service and sharing a gift with our men and women who serve. Today, nationwide, flags will fly at half-staff, Friday, May 15, in memory and honor of law enforcement officers who died while performing their duties.

We would appreciate you keeping them in your thoughts and prayers and, if you see an officer, share a hearty hug or handshake while thanking them for their service. It’s a calling and rewarding but it can be terribly hard too. Today and every day, we remember and send our appreciation.

We can’t help but acknowledge that it’s been a tough time as our men and women faced loss.

Today they’re working their regular shifts plus extra ones at Furniture Market and other places where security has been requested.

While the mourning bands have been removed, it doesn’t mean the impact of loss has diminished. They’re like you, having their own personal joys and hardships. The difference is the traumatic incidents they face daily. But our officers have resources at the ready and more being formulated.

One of the most important pieces of wellness is support and understanding. We join the police department in ensuring that they have both and we hope you’ll join us in that too.
