Let’s talk all things Paul Meyer.

Exhibiting with us from the very beginning, there’s something breathtaking in Meyer’s work. Perhaps it’s his use of unusual materials like cement, mortar, plaster, wood fragments, or his neutral palette.

Growing up as the son of a homebuilder, he finds real beauty in raw, everyday materials most fine artists overlook. In his Austin studio, paintings take shape almost on their own, canvases catching drips and spills from works-in-progress, layers built up wet and then shaved back down, forming quiet topographies on the surface. Out of that process comes work that feels both familiar and far away.

We’re so proud to see Raoul’s work recently featured in the Venice Art Biennale. A huge moment, and so well deserved.

His “Assembled Fragments” series takes reclaimed textiles, found frames, even vintage bronzed baby shoes, and gives them new life inside modern shadowboxes. As Raoul puts it, “our culture is in constant pursuit of what is new, often abandoning what once held meaning, yet the things we leave behind are not without spirit - they wait for rein-terpretation, for a second life shaped by attention and time.”

It’s a philosophy of care and reuse that feels right at home with everything we believe in at 313.

There’s a reason antiques hold their place at 313. Every piece carries a history, a maker, a place, a story that outlives trends.

After all, antiques often represent outstanding craftsmanship, a unique story, and a lot of love for the environment.

This fall market, we’re spotlighting three exhibitors who understand that better than anyone.

Collected by Schwung, founded by Rudi Nijssen and Dominique Sente, builds an ever-growing archive of handmade, one-of-a-kind objects that are meant to be lived with for generations.

Alfredo Paredes Studio spent three decades shaping the visual world of Ralph Lauren, from the Madison Avenue windows to the Polo Bar and more, before launching his own studio. That same storytelling and world-building instinct runs through every piece he curates.

Darrell Dean Antiques has spent over two decades sourcing 18th through 20th century finds with an unmistakable eye: weird, funky, eclectic, and built on texture and unexpected pairing.
