Girls in Gear brought students, families, employers, and community partners together at GTCC’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing for a day of hands-on experiences, interactive demos, and conversations with industry.

Students got to see the technology up close, connect with employers, and get a real look at the skills and career paths shaping advanced manufacturing across our region. 🔧

👋 Meet Sherry Wyche!

As Executive Director of GO FAR (Go Out For A Run) and a BHP Chamber Ambassador, Sherry believes strongly in the power of connection. 🤝

Her favorite part of being an Ambassador? Being a connector.

She loves meeting someone new, learning what they’re passionate about, and thinking: “I know someone you need to meet.”

For Sherry, those connections often start with simply showing up. Some of her most meaningful opportunities, personally, professionally, and for GO FAR, have come from making a connection and opening a door.

What does she love most about High Point?
The people.❤️

You can walk into a room not knowing anyone and leave with three new connections, two ideas, and a reason to follow up.

Her advice:
“Show up before you need something.”
Go to the ribbon cutting. Attend the breakfast. Introduce yourself to someone you don’t know. Ask questions. Follow up.

Because real professional growth comes from relationships, and relationships are built through consistency and genuine curiosity.
