Opening day of the Plattwood Spring series!

On April 25, 2026 the Dry Pants Model Yacht Club hosted the 2026 DF 95 New England Spring Points Regatta. 24 Sailors from four New England states traveled to Plattwood Park, Deep
River, CT. As expected, long range weather predictions produced a chilled spring day, the wind favoring a shifty and challenging direction enhancing the enjoyment and fun. The race
committee altered courses which when combined with winds tested and challenged everyone’s sailing skill. Most races featured several lead changes, rapid fleet position fluctuations and multiple boats finishing overlapped. “The Pond” once again provided evidence of its ability to humble or enhance one’s sailing ability. 16 races were completed with an additional 2 races not scored as a result of exceptional close finishes and everyone was able to experience more than one intense, exciting race and finish. Eric Arndt first, Tommy Henshaw second, Michael Campbell third, Bob Shluger forth, and William Shaw fifth.

Last Sunday was the final week for the Fall Series (Wk #8) for the DF-95s. Nine skippers completed 9 races. Congratulations to Bill Walker for winning the day and for winning the Fall Series in the DF-95 class.

Wk #3 of the Fall Series for the DF-95s, 7 skippers completed 6 races in very trying conditions. Congratulations to Bill Walker for winning the day, good to see Peter Huttemeier back sailing, he sat out a race to rest and still finished in 2nd place.

Sunday was week #2 for Fall Series for the CR-914s, 7 skippers completed 8 races. Congratulations to Jack Evans beating Brian Kerrigan via the tie breaker after both skippers finished with 9 points.

Also, Wk #2 for the DF-95s, 5 skippers completed 8 races. Just like the CR-914s the DF-95s ended with a tie at 9 points each, Ron Rhault beat Jack Evans via the tie breaker.
