More than 40 Indigenous delegates and representatives from Indigenous Peoples’ organizations — including Indigenous Peoples Human Rights Defenders, women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples with disabilities from Asia — participated in the 25th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) 2026.
Over the two weeks of the Forum at UN Headquarters in New York, they delivered joint and individual statements and participated in the Asia Indigenous Peoples Caucus, side events, media events, and other meetings.
The Asia Indigenous Peoples Caucus delivered the following five joint statements during the Forum.
