Wild Earth

Wild Earth Wild Earth ignites transformative connections and creativity rooted in the natural world.

We make nature accessible for over 4,000 youth and adults annually through school partnerships, summer camps, and community-based programs. At Wild Earth, children & adults head into the woods and off the trails where they’re meeting plants and animals, learning wilderness skills, creating natural crafts, and building deep connections with friends and inspiring mentors.

🌧️✨ At Ropes last month, we made it through our first rainy evening—warm, dry, and together!

The group chose a slower night and it was exactly what we needed. We started with a powerful Toni Morrison story that sparked reflection and gratitude. Then we learned and wove a four-strand braid, carved white pine, tended the fire, and shared meaningful conversation.

Dinner was a surprise hit. Mac and cheese with chicken, made from scratch. No leftovers 😅

Grateful for these simple, connected evenings. This month we'll end this program (until the Fall) with our 2-night overnight. We're hyped!

We don't record many videos in the field, but we captured a few fun moments from Nature Everywhere Afterschool! Yes, our staff have fun too 😎

We still have spots remaining for this afterschool program!

Rainy days don’t slow the Atlatl participants down!

On Saturday we prepped for our last day that ends in an overnight campout (until we start back up in the Fall!). We'll sleep under open-air tarp shelters that the participants spent the day building.

We also lit fires, planted oak saplings, and played an epic twist on capture the flag (with mascots and “fireballs 🔥”). And then of course we had to test our cooking skills before our overnight by cooking up some foraged wild ramps, fiddleheads, and roasted cheesy garlic bread with garlic mustard. 😋

It was reptile and amphibians week at Nature Everywhere Afterschool! 🐸 💚

As the new stewards of the land the kids take care of our home in the forest. With the support of a local hero, Mark the Acorn Man, we planted several young oak saplings in the woods. 🌲

A grape vine quickly became our swing, a down storm tree our see saw, discovered (clean and deliberately placed) deer bones turned to our tools. Nibble fingers work on cordage for necklaces, dexterously weaving star sticks and cautiously needle felting. It's really become quite the village!

Our nature table lead thoughtful conversations about what aquatic creatures are up to in the spring. We ran and hid throughout the woods with games such like fish and frogs, sardines, and swim fishy swim. Music and laughter filled the forest with impromptu jam sessions and “purple rain” sing along while crafting.

We have plenty of spots for more Kingston kids grades 2-4 to join this low cost to free afterschool program located in Hasbrouck Park. Link in bio for more information!

Limited spots remaining for Summer Camp 💛

Our Kestrel Camp (ages 7–10) and Raven Camp (ages 10–13) offer immersive outdoor experiences where kids build skills, confidence, and connection to the natural world.

At Kestrel, younger campers explore, play, build shelters, learn fire skills, and grow through teamwork and community.

At Raven, older campers dive deeper by working with tools, taking on leadership roles, and adventuring across the stunning Clove Valley landscape.

Fire, food, and a day outside. 🔥

Join us for Cooking with Fire, a hands-on cooking experience using locally foraged, hunted, and farmed ingredients. We’ll spend the day building, cooking, and sharing a meal from the ground up.

Expect slow-smoked meats and vegetables cooked in a smoker we’ll build, handmade tortillas, fire-roasted salsas, clay-baked fish, and cobbler baked in a Swedish stove we’ll build together.

Along the way, we’ll learn chicken butchery, craft pot hangers, and work with wild foods like acorn flour and black walnuts.

Open to all levels. No experience needed. Just come ready to use your hands, learn something new, and eat well.

☀ 11am–6pm
☀ 175 Rock Haven Rd, Kerhonkson, NY
