linktr.ee/woodstocksanctuary We rescue farmed animals and give them care and sanctuary, connect animals with people to advance veganism, and advocate for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements. We welcome visitors to come and meet animals who are most commonly exploited, abused, and killed in animal agriculture. Our animal residents are given lifelong sanctuary and are treated with respect as individuals. By giving farmed animals the chance to live their lives with dignity and by sharing their stories, we advocate for veganism and aim to reduce suffering for all.

We wanted to share this sweet moment from several years ago in honor of our late turkey friend, Dani. Dani was rescued from a turkey farm in 2015 when she was only a couple months old. Like so many of the 46 million turkeys who are killed every year for Thanksgiving, Dani’s toes were cut off at the joint and she was de-beaked—extremely cruel but customary practices in the industry, all done without any pain relief or anesthetic.

When Dani first arrived here, she was a sick and scared baby. But thanks to daily love, care, and compassion, Dani learned quickly that she was safe to be her bold, talkative self. She passed away this year and we miss her more than words. She always spoke up for herself and we will continue to speak up for her.

In honor of Dani, please consider sponsoring one of her many friends at the link in our bio & stories! 💗

From wandering in someone’s front yard to getting endless love, we couldn’t be happier to witness Puck’s progress and growth! They have blossomed into an absolute goofball who is highly food motivated, a bit silly, and the biggest fan of snack time. Puck is up to three meals a day now, growing so much! One of Puck’s favorite things is getting tucked into bed every night with their special stuffie. We are so grateful to know this little one and keep them safe for a lifetime.

Keep following along for more precious Puck updates! 🐓❤️

Our beautiful new rooster Gilroy is adjusting to his life here in Sanctuary. He’s been very inquisitive and active in his new yard! This big guy was immediately treated for parasites upon arrival, when our care team noticed his comb was very dark in color, which can be a sign of serious conditions. We got him into the vet ASAP for an echocardiogram, which confirmed his dark comb was indeed serious.

Gilroy was diagnosed with a heart condition, meaning he will need to be on medication for the rest of his life. Without these meds, he could enter heart failure… so we are very grateful we caught this so quickly. Sadly, heart conditions are not uncommon in Cornish chickens due to their selective breeding and size.

Getting this echo was so important for Gilroy, but it is also expensive, a total of $605.83. Please consider making a donation today to help cover the cost of Gilroy's vet visit, Getting this echo was so important for Gilroy, but it is also expensive, a total of $605.83. Please consider making a donation today to help cover the cost of Gilroy’s vet visit, as this gentle boy has already been through so much.

We will continue to keep you all posted and in the meantime, Gilroy is enjoying lots of sunshine and the grass under his feet ❤️.

THANK YOU!!! On Friday we were pretty discouraged because we had no one sign up for our monthly giving program, despite asking all week. We asked if just five people could sign up before Nov 1st…just trying to get any help we could. And by Saturday evening, we had 14 new Partners in Rescue!!! Thank you to each one of you 💕

Didn’t sign up yet? We could still really use your help! https://woodstocksanctuary.org/partners-in-rescue

This Halloween’s costume contest was won by Colin the cow! 🏆 Colin is dressed as a mummy. Pretty great costume tbh!

The reason for the costume? He banged one of his horns and damaged it…so we had to treat and wrap it. Which is NOT EASY to do with a 2500-plus lbs cow, even one as gentle as Colin.

But congrats to Colin the Mummy 🏆 Next year just come as a cow, buddy? 🙏🐄

We saved sweet hen Meira from being killed as a baby three years ago. Since then we’ve done everything we can to keep her safe and happy 💗Isn’t she sweet? Did you watch the whole video?

But we need help for Meira and the hundreds of animals who live here. We’ve been trying to get more people to sign up for our monthly giving program this week but sadly, we haven’t received a single sign-up. Not one. It’s pretty scary.

We rely on our monthly donors for the steady funding we need to show up for animals like Meira, and we really need more people to join this group. We are honestly not even sure if people are seeing our posts, but we are still hopeful that we can get even FIVE people to start a monthly gift before November 1st. Could you be one of those five?

Every monthly gift, at any amount, makes a difference for the animals. Please consider becoming a Partner in Rescue today.

For Meira and all the animals who deserve a soft place to land 🙏🏼

A team from Animal Outlook recently was at the Washington State Fair where a pig birthing exhibit was on display to fairgoers. They got this footage. The pig on display experienced complications during labor and a piglet become painfully stuck inside of her. Viewers were quickly removed from the exhibit.

We want to stop this cruel practice of live birthing exhibits. In 2026, the New York State Fair didn’t hold their annual dairy cow birthing exhibit after years of our advocacy campaign. Pressure and advocacy works! We need to keep it up.

For more information on our ongoing campaign and live birthing exhibits, check out woodstocksanctuary.org/fair-coalition.

Watching rescued baby goats Bonnie and Hobbes settle into safety and experience their first fall warms our hearts. If you’ve been following us for a while now or are new here, we wanted to share a special opportunity to join Partners in Rescue! ✨

Bonnie and Hobbes had so much support from our community when we first brought them home and shared their stories, but rescue is only the beginning for us here at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. When we welcome an animal home, we promise them a lifetime of safety, care, and love. This year alone, we’ve rescued 36 animals (🎉) and now we need your help to sustain their care for the rest of their lives.

Our Partners in Rescue program is a monthly giving initiative that helps us keep the promise we made to Bonnie, Hobbes, and the nearly 300 other rescued animals here. This group of monthly donors are key in making sure we have the reliable support we need to care for the animals, day in and day out, no matter what. Partners in Rescue are with us every step of the way, so they get insider updates from us and hear about breaking rescue news first! We couldn’t do what we do without our Partners in Rescue.

If you have the ability to give monthly, please consider signing up to be a Partner in Rescue today. Regular monthly gifts mean we can look after our residents and commit to new rescues.

Louie is having a tasty Tuesday with his pine branches!

This boy’s happy chomps bring such a big smile to our faces. Louie and his twin sister Luna were born here at the Sanctuary after his mom was rescued in October 2015 during a large backyard slaughterhouse rescue. Kept in devastating conditions, Lou Lou, a very small goat, arrived heavily pregnant. We tragically lost Lou Lou during an emergency c-section, so her babies were bottle-fed by us until they were old enough to join the herd and learn how to be goats.

Louie and Luna were named in memory of their mom. We wish she could have lived to see them grow up as happy goats who will never know harm at the hands of humans, only sanctuary 🐐💚.
