LAST CHANCE — A limited number of tickets are still available for Sunday’s “Land from Different Perspectives” forum at Mohonk.

You can still register for Sunday’s forum at Mohonk, which will feature stories and discussions about the varied ways people have viewed and interacted with the land in our region, including Indigenous and Black voices, land stewards, farmers, community members, and historians.

The program will open with a welcome song from Bethany Yarrow, followed by a historical overview of the diverse peoples that have called this land home from Ulster County Historian Eddie Moran. Then three storytellers will take the stage to share different perspectives on the land: Kawenniiosta Jock from Skywoman’s Forever Farm, John Kelder from Kelder’s Farm, and Shaniqua Bowden from the Kingston Land Trust.

The last hour of the forum will feature a networking reception, allowing audience members to interact with program presenters and representatives from a number of other organizations with diverse and compelling perspectives on land, including Allies of the Tonawanda Seneca Nation, Conuco Farm, Freedom Farm Community, Kingston Land Trust, Outdoor Promise, Wallkill Valley Land Trust and Wild Earth.
