Meet Genevieve Gregorichโ€”Assistant Professor of Management, University of
Colorado-Denver.
What if the stories we tell ourselves are the only thing holding us back?
Genevieve Gregorich is a social scientist, educator, and entrepreneur working to build a more prosperous, connected society. She is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Colorado-Denver and holds a PhD from Columbia Business School, where her research explores how leaders navigate competing pressures and how beliefs shape social and economic behavior. Her last TEDx talk drew audiences of over half a million views.
This November, she brings a new idea to the Catawba stage.

We're partnering with NC Department of Health and Human Services to offer free beginner American Sign Language classes beginning this September! On Mondays from Sept. 14 through Oct. 5, come to Highland Recreation Center at 10 a.m. to practice hand gestures and learn common phrases. Registration is now open at https://tinyurl.com/ykm6a6cz.

๐Ÿ“ŒCiao Hickory began in 2023 as a simple group of friends and a page dedicated to the Italian community in Hickory; over the years, it has grown into a vibrant hub to celebrate Italian heritage through a variety of events, classes, and gatherings.
๐ŸŽ‰ The nonprofit organization of Ciao Hickory was founded in the summer of 2025, and in October 2025, thanks to a wide group of volunteers, has organized what has been the very first Italian Festival for Hickory.
