On Sunday, May 31st, the Passaic Hope One Team attended the Scott’s Fun Run event in West Milford. This powerful event is held annually in memory of Scott, who passed away from an overdose several years ago.

This event was more than just a run, it was a tribute to those we’ve lost, a show of support for those still fighting, and a celebration of every person on the path to recovery.

The team connected with over 70 community members, sharing valuable resources and engaging in meaningful conversations about recovery and the supports available to individuals and families.

🐦 CARES recently set out on a Bird Watching & Nature Hike adventure, and despite not spotting a single bird, we still had an amazing time!

We explored the trails, enjoyed the beauty of nature, and discovered some truly unique sights along the way. One of the highlights was an incredible cave that seemed to have its own natural air conditioning system.

The biggest surprise of the day was finding a hidden Girl Scout letterbox! Our participant, Joe, somehow spotted a well-concealed rock wall hiding the treasure. How he found it remains a mystery, but we're glad he did! We left a note of our own, as requested, and carefully returned it to its secret location for future explorers to discover.

Sometimes the best adventures don't go as planned. While the birds may have stayed hidden, the memories, discoveries, and time spent connecting with nature made this outing one to remember.
