Cathy’s story, navigating life without a home, residing in her car. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we were able to move her out of her car and in to a local hotel for a few weeks, where she is safe 💕

Cathy has now decided to bravely step forward and share her journey in her own words. A lifelong NJ resident and worker in our area, and now she’s ready to put a face to the story that has touched so many hearts.

We have been advocating on Cathy’s behalf and finally have a promising lead on financial assistance through the state—a 12-month voucher for an affordable apartment. This is a huge step for Cathy, but with administrative processes, it will take some time to secure approval.

Your continued support is crucial. We aim to keep Cathy sheltered in the hotel until everything is finalized. Every contribution counts and makes a real difference! 🙏

It’s time to hand out the tickets 💙 $50 sponsors a neighbor experiencing homelessness attend the event.

FOURTH ANNUAL “WORTHY OF LOVE” EVENT WITH THE NEW YORK GIANTS RETURNS TO METLIFE STADIUM.

Project Kind is seeking volunteers, service providers and donations/sponsorships for the return of our Annual Worthy of Love Event. Hosted by the NY Giants at Met Life Stadium. The annual Project Kind “Worthy of Love” event is back on Friday, June 21 2024, at MetLife Stadium. Since 2018, the New York Giants have partnered with Project Kind to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for more than 120 friends who are experiencing homelessness. Our “Worthy of Love” event provides an array of services, resources, indulgences, and plenty of kindness to those in need.

Guests will receive a tour of the stadium, apparel, food and drink, along with listening to diverse speakers and meeting New York Giant players and volunteers. Project Kind also coordinates with local businesses to provide complimentary haircuts, shaves, manicures, yoga, chiropractic care, and massage. Most importantly, the event features agencies to help individuals link to needed services, obtain housing, identification documents, and more.

Project Kind is a non-profit that has served thousands of people experiencing homelessness or otherwise in need, for the last 10 years. While outreach started in our local area of Newark, New Jersey, our reach has continued to evolve and expand to help individuals and the communities where they live. By filling in the gaps in the system and building a support network, Project Kind seeks to inspire, create opportunities, and engage the community to share in the journey of those in need. We serve with no judgement, create a culture of inclusion, and believe in the power of love to lead individuals to have a positive impact.

To continue making an impact on those in need, Project Kind is holding its annual fundraiser in conjunction with the “Worthy of Love” event to support the organization’s various means of assistance, including the Kindness Closet, street outreach and homeless to housed program. . Friends, a few months back, we collected for a young single mom from Ukraine who was on the verge of homelessness and had nowhere to go. She also had nobody to spend the holidays with. Thankfully, we were able to connect her to County services and they put her up in a motel room. Thereafter, our wonderful and caring community came together and provided her and her one year old son with gifts, clothing, food and so much more.

Sadly, she has been living in the motel room for the past four months with her one year old son and I'm so excited to say she finally has the opportunity to get a studio apartment locally however, the approval will not go through without an additional $120 per month assistance from either a nonprofit or another agency's assistance. She has tried reaching out to other agencies/nonprofits for assistance but unfortunately she has not found anyone who has funding available. We are therefore once again reaching out to the community hoping to collect enough to cover this amount ($120 x 12 months $1440) plus security, for a total of appx $2500.

If anyone can find it in their hearts to help this young mom, it would be so very appreciated and she can continue to work on beginning her life with her young son here in our wonderful community. If you know any any company or organization who may want to sponsor this cause, please message me.
