California’s state funding doesn’t fully cover the cost of providing the well-rounded education our Hermosa students deserve. That leaves a significant gap—and that’s where HBEF steps in.

Our students are settling into the 2026–27 school year, and HBEF’s Annual Giving Campaign is officially underway!

HBEF is proud to bring our community together to help ensure every Hermosa student has access to the programs, resources, and support they need to thrive.

Here’s the reality: property taxes don’t fully fund our schools. State funding leaves a gap of more than $3,000 per student each year—and HBEF helps bridge that gap through the incredible generosity of our community. 🧡

For more than 30 years, the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation (HBEF) has helped make our public schools stronger by funding the programs, people, and resources that allow our students to learn, grow, and thrive.

HBEF helps provide the things that state funding alone simply can’t — including music education, school counselors, librarians, enrichment programs, technology, professional development, and so much more.

But HBEF is about more than funding programs. It’s about a community coming together and saying, our kids deserve the very best. 🫶
