We are in the home stretch for our entomology project. July 1st and 2nd I will be hosting a pinning day to get fully ready for state fair. We will provide everything your child needs, except for their own insects. Remember, your child needs a minimum of 50 different insects from 8 different scientific orders. These two days are set up as a come and go event. Stay as long or as little as you need, we will be in the expo building from 10am-4pm both days. We will work on pinning, ID, and box preparation. We will also have take home supplies if you feel confident enough to prepare your box on your own at home. No pre-registration needed. If you have any questions, feel free to message, comment, email, or call the office.

What an incredible three days of adventure, learning, and friendship!

Henderson County 4-H youth joined friends from Hopkins County and Webster County 4-H for a three-day natural resource day education camp filled with hands-on learning and exploration

🥾 Day 1 at Audubon State Park we had the best day learning about edible plants, taking hikes, making new friends, and learning about turtles, snakes, and frogs! We participated in the Slither and Crawl program and learned even more about Kentucky’s fascinating reptiles and amphibians! 🐍🐸🍀

🐍 Day 2 at Canaan Ridge Park included hiking, fishing, rock painting, creating edible soil, dissecting owl pellets, and getting up close with some amazing reptiles from the Reptile Zoo.

🚣 Day 3 at Mahr Park gave youth the opportunity to go kayaking, tour the Hopkins County Sportsmen & Sportswomen’s Club trailer, search for leaves, create leaf prints, and enjoy bird watching.

A huge thank you to our partners at Hopkins County and Webster County 4-H, our teen 4-Her who was a HUGE help (Nolan), as well as all the community partners who helped make this camp a success. We are proud of our Henderson County 4-H youth for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to try new things throughout the week!
