🐾 MEET MCGEE!

We’re just going to say it… McGee is quickly becoming a staff favorite. 👀

At around 1 year and 11 months old, this adorable boy has already shown us what a total sweetheart he is. We introduced him to a playgroup last week with FOUR other dogs, and McGee was absolutely perfect! He LOVES his dog friends and is currently kenneled with Bingo, where the two of them are doing great together. ✔️

And the good news doesn’t stop there! McGee recently went on a walk at the park with one of our volunteers, and when our 9-year-old volunteer walked up, McGee did wonderful with them. 🤎

He’s sweet, playful, social, adorable… and honestly, we’re having a hard time finding anything not to love about this boy.

🐾 Meet Cody!
📢 CALLING LAB LOVERS

Cody is a little over 3 years old and is most likely a Lab mix. With his age he’s got the best of both worlds- he still has a little bit of puppy energy, but he’s also a big lazy boy. 💤

Cody is still new to the shelter, so we’re getting to know him and don’t have all the answers about his personality just yet. But we know a few things-

‼️He went to a foster and had some issues with the female dog.
However, he came into the shelter with another female dog (who has been adopted) and did great with. SELECTIVE with his friends.
‼️Not cat tested

We are stocked to the brim with AMAZING cats and kittens with great personalities! Adoptions have slowed down the last few weeks but we are determined to get these babies into forever homes! 🏠

She shared details about our upcoming Boots, Barks & Barbecue – A Night to Rescue fundraiser happening Saturday, September 12th at Ellis Park! 🤠🥃

Henderson Humane Society Board President Christa Bennett was one of our guests on Wednesday's Speak Up episode.

She said tickets are on sale now for Boots, Barks and Barbecue – a Night to Rescue fundraiser event that will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12th at Ellis Park. Doors will open for regular guests from 7-10 p.m. VIP guests gain entry at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, that includes food and entertainment. Bennett also said the shelter has a need right now for wet cat food and litter. She also said the Humane Society received grant money to offer a low cost spay and neuter program. She said applications will be posted soon.
