What a great way to kick off our September class! 🙌

Our HLI Class enjoyed getting together outside of class time for a social gathering before coming together for another great day of learning and leadership development.

During our September class, we were excited to welcome back several HLI fellows who joined us for engaging panel discussions focused on Leadership, Entrepreneurism, and Economic Development.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect our past and present fellows and continue building a strong network of leaders committed to making Henderson a better place.

A big THANK YOU to our class sponsor, Beverage Barn, for supporting Henderson Leadership Initiative and investing in the development of future community leaders! đź‘Ź

Today’s class meeting started at the Henderson City-County Airport, where Airport Manager Emily Herron showed us all the great things they have to offer our community. What a cool, up-close experience right here in our town of Henderson!

Next, Kentucky Chamber representatives John Hughes, LaKisha Miller, and Ginny Hoyt shared insights about the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Foundation, including the work they are doing to strengthen the state we call home. đź’™
We also had the opportunity to hear an education update from our very own HLI board members, Dr. Warren and Dr. Lawson.

We wrapped up the day with a bus tour of the Henderson Riverport, led by current class member and Riverport Business Manager, Jacob Sauer. It was such a valuable opportunity to check out and learn more about the wonderful resources here in our Henderson community—resources these young leaders can take back to their own professions and continue to champion.

Huge THANK YOU to both The Henderson City-County Airport and The Henderson Riverport for not only hosting us at their businesses today, but also for sponsoring today’s class!

Another HLI project is coming to fruition! ✨📚

What a beautiful morning for our community to come together and help beautify the neighborhood. Seeing this vision become a reality is a testament to the power of collaboration, leadership, and service.

We are incredibly proud of the group members who dedicated their time, energy, and hard work to make this project happen. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this effort and invest in our community. Together, we’re making Henderson an even better place to live, work, and grow! 💙

Courageous conversations aren’t always the “fun” part of leadership—but they are one of the most important parts.

A huge thank you to Karen Butcher Coaching for leading today’s class and equipping them with the tools, confidence, and strategies to navigate those tough conversations with courage, professionalism, and purpose.

We’re also incredibly grateful to POW! Partnership of Women for sponsoring today’s class and investing in the development of future leaders in our community. Thank you for your support!

Henderson Leadership Initiative Fellow Ellie Kellen was our guest on Thursday's episode of Speak Up.

Kellen invited the community to participate in her HLI group’s project – which is a paint by numbers East End street mural that people can help create from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, July 18th at the intersection of Letcher and Powell Street next to the Audubon Kids Zone.

Today, our class had the opportunity to learn about the rich history of Henderson from Chuck Stinnett. Class members enjoyed an engaging presentation followed by a walking tour that brought many of Henderson’s stories, landmarks, and traditions to life.

A special thank you to Chuck for sharing his knowledge and passion for our community, helping our class gain a deeper appreciation for the place we call home.

We would also like to thank Chase Fulcher and Best Insured for sponsoring today’s class and investing in the development of future community leaders.

One of the groups from the HLI Class of 2025 continues to move their practicum project forward! This week, class fellows presented their plans and sought approval from the Henderson City Commission as they work to bring their vision to life for the benefit of our community.

We are proud of their dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a lasting impact in Henderson. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project progresses!
