Today’s class meeting started at the Henderson City-County Airport, where Airport Manager Emily Herron showed us all the great things they have to offer our community. What a cool, up-close experience right here in our town of Henderson!

Next, Kentucky Chamber representatives John Hughes, LaKisha Miller, and Ginny Hoyt shared insights about the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Foundation, including the work they are doing to strengthen the state we call home. 💙
We also had the opportunity to hear an education update from our very own HLI board members, Dr. Warren and Dr. Lawson.

We wrapped up the day with a bus tour of the Henderson Riverport, led by current class member and Riverport Business Manager, Jacob Sauer. It was such a valuable opportunity to check out and learn more about the wonderful resources here in our Henderson community—resources these young leaders can take back to their own professions and continue to champion.

What a beautiful morning for our community to come together and help beautify the neighborhood. Seeing this vision become a reality is a testament to the power of collaboration, leadership, and service.

Today, our class had the opportunity to learn about the rich history of Henderson from Chuck Stinnett. Class members enjoyed an engaging presentation followed by a walking tour that brought many of Henderson’s stories, landmarks, and traditions to life.

A special thank you to Chuck for sharing his knowledge and passion for our community, helping our class gain a deeper appreciation for the place we call home.

One of the groups from the HLI Class of 2025 continues to move their practicum project forward! This week, class fellows presented their plans and sought approval from the Henderson City Commission as they work to bring their vision to life for the benefit of our community.

What an incredible day celebrating 20 years of HLI! The 20 Year Celebration Luncheon was a huge success, and it truly reflected the impact this program has had on our community over the years.
