Gardeners are you interested in learning more about soil fertility? Would you like to take a multi-week course through MSU Extension? Dr. Clain Jones, MSU Extension Soil Fertility Specialist, will be teaching a 9-week course from mid-January to mid-March designed for home gardeners, small acreage landowners, and market gardeners (veggies and fruit). This course will explain the fundamentals of soil nutrient management, including how to diagnose nutrient deficiencies and determine the correct source, rate, timing and placement of soil amendments and fertilizers. With this information, the participants will be able to use amendments and fertilizers in an ecological and economically optimal way for healthy soil and plant production. The course will be taught live by video conferencing (Webex) Thursdays at noon but recordings will be available if that time doesn’t work for you. A badge will be available to demonstrate course completion. Cost: $10. Course will be capped at 60. Contact Clain Jones if you have any questions at [email protected]
