Helena Ales for Trails Helena Ales for Trails is an annual beer festival that raises money for the Helena Trail Systems. VIP has a history of selling out quickly, so gets yours ASAP.

Helena Ales for Trails strives to contribute to the community of Helena by raising funds for the Helena Trail System. 2025’s event raised $56,414.07 for trails. The event is led by a consortium of community leaders from a variety of sectors. We’re proud to partner with local businesses, city and county government, and private citizens to host and sponsor Helena Ales for Trails. In addition to the

myriad of people involved in planning, Helena Ales for Trails utilizes over 150 volunteers on the day of the event. Over the first 14 years we’ve raised over $261,000 for local trails, all which was distributed to Friends of Centennial Trail (Centennial Trail Project), Prickly Pear Land Trust (Peaks to Creek Project), Helena Parks and Recreation (Ascension Downhill Project & Park City Trailhead), Helena Trail Rider, the Deford Trail Corridor and the 2019 Whyte Addition to Mt. Helena City Park, the Old Shooting Range Restroom Accessibility Project, the Limekiln Parking Area Realignment Project, City of Helena Open Land’s Hoppiness Trail on Mt. Ascension, and the Bureau of Land Management (Scratchgravel Hills Recreation Plan). Keeping it Downtown:

The 15th annual Helena Ales for Trails is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026. VIP Pre Event: 3.30 - 5.00pm
Tickets go on sale March 1st at 9.00am for $50. Main Event: 5.00 - 9.00pm

The Main Event includes the following!

The last phase of the Scratchgravel Peak ascent trail is done! Thanks to our friends with for putting in the work to get this done 💪 ⛏️

This trail ⛰ is a 2.5 mile, out-and-back trail that goes from Head Lane up to Scratch Peak. Get out and enjoy! 🌲

If you have questions, we have answers! ❓❓

🍺 WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? All proceeds go toward the Bureau of Land Management's Scratchgravel Hills Recreation Plan to fund a descent trail from Scratch Peak! This means new trails for all user groups in the Scratchgravels!

🍺 DO YOU ALLOW DOGS? No, unfortunately we cannot allow dogs at the event.

🍺 I'M WAY OVER 21! DO I NEED TO BRING MY ID? Yes! We are required to ID all patrons, so please bring your ID!

🍺 WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH TOKENS? After 5.00pm, all attendees, including VIP attendees, will need to use tokens to purchase beer. We are selling tokens for $1. 1 token = 6oz pour.

🍺 ARE KIDS ALLOWED? Yes! Kids 5 years and younger are free. Ages 6-20 are $5.

🍺 WHAT ABOUT NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER? Yes, we will have a few different selections of non-alcoholic beer; however, you still need to purchase a main event ticket ($25 online or $35 day-of) to consume non-alcoholic beer.

🍺 I DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL, BUT I'D STILL LIKE TO ATTEND. HOW SHOULD I DO THIS? We are selling a non-drinker / designated driver ticket for just $5! This allows you to come into the main event, enjoy the live music by Rod Morrison & Up The Creek, and hang out with your friends. In addition, 406Sips • Habana 406 • Cheddar's Gourmet Grilled Cheese • Rosie’s Hogstop will have food and beverages for purchase!
