The 13th Helena Sports Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony will be held Thursday, July 9, beginning at 4:45 p.m. at the Great Northern Town Center. Class of 2026 individual inductees consists of Randy Rucker, Susan Court and Mary (Tucci) Bryson in the golden category; modern era athletes Steve Bennett, Jeff Thomas, Bill Cockhill, McKenzie Johnston, Lena (Mortensen) Phelps and Kelsi (Brekke) Rummel; coaches Mike Miller and Steve Keller; and Jay Scott in the officials/special category.

Teams being inducted this year include the 1997 Capital High boys soccer, 2001 Capital High boys soccer, 2002 Helena High girls soccer, 2002 & ’03 Helena High boys soccer, 2002 Capital High girls volleyball and 2002 Capital High football; and in the golden category, 1940 Helena High hockey.

The Helena Sports Hall of Fame is releasing our list of the latest class of inductees, to be enshrined next summer. Twelve individuals and eight teams will be inducted into the HSHOF on July 9, 2026, during a banquet ceremony at the Great Northern Hotel.

The Class of 2026 consists of three golden athletes (graduated high school 50-plus years ago), six modern era athletes, two coaches and one officials/special category; along with one golden and seven modern era teams.

Since its inception in 2003, the HSHOF has enshrined 159 individuals and 90 teams. The new inductees will be listed in the comments....

Tickets are now available for the 12th class of the Helena Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet, which takes place on July 11 in the Great Northern Ballroom. Reservation forms may be obtained by emailing [email protected] and must be completed by June 15. The No-host Cocktail Hour starts at 4:45 followed by the Banquet dinner at 5:45.

The HSHOF Class of 2024 inductees include Paul Caruso, Shane MacIntyre, Don MacIntyre, Charles “Chuck” Fred, Casey (Chilton) Molloy, Thad Michalson, Earl Fred, Julie (Brown) Petre, Kim Hurley, Monica (Grimsrud) Smith, Callie (Sparing) Harberts, Dave Thennis and Sheila Williams. Teams entering are the 1998 an 1999 Capital High Boys Track & Field, 1999 and 2000 Capital Football, 2001-03 Helena Senators Legion Baseball, 1997 Helena High Girls Tennis, and 1914-16 and 1919 HHS Basketball.
