A big opportunity for 4-H boys ages 13 to 18!
We are seeing a shortage of teen boys applying to serve as a summer camp counselor this year. Without more male teen camp counselors, we will have to severely limit how many boys can attend camp August 2-6, 2026.

Even if you have never attended camp in the past, we would love to have you come, and open up the opportunity for more young 4-H’ers to attend camp. Please consider applying. The deadline to apply is November 21, 2025.

We provide all the training and preparation. You supply the enthusiasm, planning and teamwork. We guarantee you’ll have a great time, and the opportunity to inspire young 4-H’ers. We promise it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Calling all camp counselors!
Want to flex your leadership skills? Learn more and apply to serve as a teen summer camp counselor! We’re seeking enthusiastic, engaged and mature 4-H teens to plan our 2026 summer camp. Teens ages 13 to 18 may apply. We will give priority to those who are 14 and older. 13-year-olds may serve as a junior camp counselor, or attend as a camper.

Here are some important dates to be a camp counselor:

November 2, 2025, 4:00 p.m.: Orientation meeting in the upstairs meeting room at Extension office. We will go over expectations and the application process. Here you can ask questions and decide if serving as a teen counselor is for you! Applications will be available at this meeting.
November 21, 2025: Deadline to apply. Applications received at the Extension office.
December 5 & 7, 2025: Camp counselor candidate interviews. Date and time TBD.
December 8, 2025: Notification to camp counselors of acceptance
January 9-11, 2026: Camp counselor retreat and planning workshop. This is a mandatory event where all teen counselors must attend and participate. We'll spend two nights in White Sulphur Springs, with structured trainings and activities and camp planning.

Later in the year we will hold an additional 3-4 mandatory meetings for further leadership development and camp planning. We'll determine those dates as a group.

Flashback to 2017: Prickly Pear 4-H members (formerly Kountry Bumpkins) assembled Easter baskets to give to kids temporarily residing at The Friendship Center. This was a really fun club service project!

4-H Summer Camp Registration is now open!

Five fun-filled days and four nights at a dedicated 4-H camp. Open to all kids ages 8-13 who are enrolled 4-H members in Lewis & Clark County. Camper fee is $225. Fee includes all transportation, accommodations, meals, snacks, activity supplies, program materials and a tee-shirt. Activities will include group games, campfire songs and skits, crafts and skills workshops, swimming, canoes, team games, a service project, youth development exercises, outdoor adventure, and friendships to last a lifetime!

Note: We do not permit requests to share a cabin with friends—you’ll be assigned to a cabin and camp counselor once you arrive. Please make sure you can attend the full camp before you register! We will not honor refunds without careful review by Lewis & Clark County 4-H.
