Unforgettable team experiences don’t happen by accident. They take creativity, planning, and the right people leading the room.

Local Color’s Creative Experiences connect organizations with professional artists who lead engaging, hands-on workshops and event activations.

These workshops are a turnkey solution that bring authentic collaboration, and connection to your event.

Whether it’s a team-building session, annual sales meeting, heritage month celebration, or community festival, our artists guide participants step by step through the creative process, making something meaningful together.

Every workshop is artist-led, thoughtfully designed, and built to spark connection. AND every workshop supports local creatives and the cultural life of our community.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the opening of the Charles, a new affordable housing development by Charities Housing.

The interior of the building, located along Keyes Street near Happy Hollow in San Jose, features a new mural by .

The centerpiece is a portrait of the late Dr. Charles Preston, who provided medical care in homeless encampments near where The Charles now sits. The building is named in Preston’s honor.

This project was executed through of Creative Services program, which offers full-scope mural production and public art with professional project management.

Thank you to project partners Charities Housing for the opportunity to create art that ties a figure to the building’s namesake, and to ORLUarts for the thoughtful depiction of a celebrated community figure.

A celebration two years in the making 🙌

This weekend, San Jose honored civil rights leader, community builder, and trailblazer Inez Jackson with a mural that will live in downtown San Jose for future generations.

Designed by and brought to life through and Local Color’s Creative Services program, this mural is about more than paint. It’s about memory, legacy, and who we choose to celebrate in public space.

Two years ago, we took on our biggest project to date 🫡

With the help of , and in support of ’s street life initiative, Local Color facilitated the creation of “Threads Woven.”

This 16,000 square foot asphalt mural designed by features vibrant hues and varying patterns meant to evoke the style of the Mexican sarape blanket.

The catch? It would be created by the community. Over three days, more than 750 people – including – volunteered their time to paint this landmark project on San Pedro Square.

Thank you to Jimmy and his team of assistant artists for helping to power a project that shows how art can completely reshape a public space.

This massive project was empowered by Local Color’s Creative Services program, which connects organizations to our vetted network of local artists and creatives for murals, installations, live painting, and design work.

Creative spaces are more than buildings. They’re community infrastructure. 🤝

Last week, Local Color joined fellow Bay Area arts and nonprofit leaders for tours and conversations focused on social-purpose real estate and the future of community-centered creative spaces.

From a tour through Oakland hosted by Community Vision to site visits throughout the Mid-Peninsula, Local Color’s leadership explored how artists, nonprofits, and developers are working together to steward spaces for creativity, connection, and economic opportunity.

These ideas continue shaping Local Color’s Creative Spaces work in Downtown San José… and what’s coming next 👀

Let’s just say we’ve been working on something with serious square footage 👀

What if your night out sparked curiosity and creativity? ✨

For the next Tech at Nite, Local Color is hosting a series of hands-on creative experiences where science meets self-reflection.

Start with moon manifestations 🌝 Using UV light and sun-printing techniques, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind cosmic print shaped by your own intentions.

You can also discover what the stars have to say with an astrological reading that taps into your birth chart and the energy of the current moon phase 💫

Set under the glow of Combsy’s Light Work, this is your chance to get hands-on, get curious, and leave with something uniquely yours. It’s tactile, meditative, and very, very cool. 🌟

Our fun workshops are part of several unique experiences happening inside after hours. It’s a smarter kind of night out 🤓
