Mentoring is a relationship built on trust and guidance. But mostly, it's an important way for kids to feel listened to, cared about and guided through life, to be shown kindness and compassion in a complicated world. 💕

For mentees, it offers a way to develop skills, gain confidence, receive support, and navigate challenges by learning from an experienced individual's knowledge and perspective.

For mentors, the role develops leadership skills, provides a sense of purpose, and offers fresh insights through guiding another person.

Today we're celebrating DAFday! 🌟
Do you have a DAF? Ready to help us make positive change in our communities? We'd love to have you support us with it! 💕

DAF Day is a nationwide fundraising movement where nonprofits, donors, and corporations come together to maximize the impact of Donor-Advised Funds (DAF).

Charitable savings: Think of a DAF like a personal 401(k) or investment account reserved strictly for philanthropy.

Immediate tax perks: Donors contribute cash, stock, or other assets to the account and receive an immediate tax deduction.

Flexible granting: The funds are invested and grow tax-free until the donor recommends grants to their favorite registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits on their own timeline. (Like us!) 💕

📚✨ Palmdale Be A Mentor was excited to be part of the Community Schools Literacy Fair at Buena Vista Elementary on Saturday, September 19!

We were especially happy to have one of our amazing mentors, Ruth Sanchez, representing Be A Mentor as a community vendor and sharing more about the work we do to support local youth. 💙

We’re passionate about celebrating reading, encouraging learning, and helping our youth succeed—both in and out of the classroom!

Thank you to Buena Vista Elementary for welcoming us and bringing the community together for such a wonderful day! 📖🌟

Happy one-year anniversary to Be A Mentor, Palmdale! We are grateful!

The Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce came out Wednesday, September 23rd, and and provided Be A Mentor with an awesome Ribbon Cutting ceremony.

We are celebrating the mentors, mentees, parents, friends and partnership.
It's been a a whirlwind of a year!

Here's to the next year and to the many young lives we will touch at Be A Mentor's Palmdale and Lancaster locations.
