🏡 What’s your favorite thing about your town/community?

My favorite thing about Kelseyville is the town’s spirit and how much the residents care about our community — especially when it comes to making a difference for kids 💛

🌟 What made you want to be part of this program?

Having a mentor can completely change the trajectory of a child’s life for the better, which creates a brighter future for all of us ✨ Be A Mentor represents the opportunity to be the change I wish to see in the world.

☕ Coffee order or go-to snack?
I love coffee! 😄 I definitely enjoy blended iced coffee with all the flavors and whipped cream, but my daily go-to is the low-carb option: coffee with heavy cream. 😜

💬 Something I'd love to say to someone thinking about joining our program:
Just do it — as long as you can make the time commitment 💫 Children need consistent adults in their lives and to know someone is there for them and cares.

Other than that, there’s really no downside. It will be fun, rewarding, maybe challenging at times, but you get the chance to truly make a difference in someone’s life 🤝

We are looking for caring, compassionate people to help kids in the Antelope Valley who really need someone -- like you! 💗

Be A Mentor, in partnership with Lost Angels Children's Project, provides mentoring to youth ages 10-17 impacted by violence and in an area where there are few resources and support available.

Our mentoring program has the goal of preventing youth from becoming involved in the juvenile justice system or re-entering the system.

Our Palmdale Project Coordinator, Sylvia Garner, is hosting a FREE Community Expungement Workshop TOMORROW 💛

Representatives from the Public Defender’s Office will be present to provide information about the expungement process, answer questions about eligibility, and assist attendees with next steps.
