Starting July 1, the City of Hayward will begin enforcing parking time limits on downtown streets, as well as in city-owned parking lots and garages.

While parking remains FREE in city streets, lots, and garages, please be sure to observe all posted time limits. Also, remember that overnight parking is prohibited in city parking lots and garages.

If I had to entertain a kid all day in Hayward without screens, here’s exactly how I’d do it 🌳☀️✨ Pack some snacks, spend the morning at the park, run around until everyone’s tired, maybe hop to another playground, and stay outside until sunset. Honestly, nothing beats a simple day outdoors and letting kids just be kids.

A piece of Bay Area history just rolled into Downtown Hayward 🚉✨ Soon, a restored 1973 BART legacy car will become the home of Arthur Mac’s Big Snack, bringing a one-of-a-kind dining experience to the heart of downtown. The 76-foot train car, originally part of BART’s legacy fleet, is being transformed into the restaurant’s newest and largest location while preserving many of its original details, from the seating to the nostalgic interior touches.
Designed to celebrate the history and culture of the Bay Area while bringing new energy to downtown, the space is set to become part restaurant, part experience, and entirely unique to Hayward.
