20% of surveyed high school students seriously considered attempting su***de in the past year, with Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander students were more likely to attempt su***de than students of other racial groups (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, 2023).

One of our participants in the RAMS Pacific Islander Wellness Initiative (PIWI) shared “community informed and in-language mental health services are important to me because they saved my life… I don't think I would keep powering through life the way I am if it wasn't for people like my coworkers and counselors at RAMS.”

Since July, our 9 amazing Youth Community Leaders have worked so hard participating in Talanoa 4 Wellness Groups, Psycho-Education Workshops, Cultural Education Workshops, Photovoice Research Lessons, fun field trips, AND event planning for “Moana Iva.” 🌊📊📸✨
