Today, HEDC and the Chamber were pleased to welcome Nebraska State Treasurer Joey Spellerberg for a community update!

Did you know the Nebraska State Treasurer's Office offers a variety of valuable resources for Nebraskans? Chamber and HEDC members learned how to:

Reclaim unclaimed property
Take advantage of the Enable Savings Plan
Access other helpful financial resources and programs

One announcement we're especially excited about is the new First-Time Homebuyers Savings Account, launching in 2027! This new program will help Nebraskans save for a down payment and closing costs on their first home, making homeownership more attainable for families across the state.

It has been a busy few weeks at HEDC and the Chamber! This past week, both boards welcomed Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance, who spoke about the value and opportunity of our unique partnership.

Dan met with members of both the HEDC and Chamber boards to discuss how our organizations work together to advance Hastings. While the Chamber and HEDC are separate entities, our partnership and shared staffing allow us to operate as one team with a common mission—to make Hastings an even better place to live, work, and do business!
