These numbers didn't happen by accident. They happened because people showed up for each other.

Participants in Bridging Forward increased their incomes by a median of 67%. Nearly two-thirds reached Thriving status in work. Power & Autonomy — the area where people felt most stuck — transformed more than almost any other domain.

How? Not through programs alone. Through Allies — community members who walk alongside someone on their journey out of poverty. People who listen without judgment. Who share connections, encouragement, and their own life experience. Who show up consistently, week after week.

That could be you.

You don't need special credentials. You need to care about your neighbors and be willing to commit your time. Allies meet regularly with their Circle Leader, join a bi-weekly community gathering, and become part of something that genuinely changes lives — including their own.

We need volunteer Allies! Walk alongside someone who is doing the hard work of breaking cycles of poverty. Twice a month from April through January 2027 - 8 months. You will receive full support and training from our great team. No expertise needed - just be human, listen well and be a champion for someone who needs it! Want to make a real difference in our community? Become a Bridging Forward Ally! 🤝
We're looking for volunteers to walk alongside Circle Leaders who are working toward financial stability and a brighter future. As an Ally, you'll build meaningful friendships, connect with diverse community members, and help reduce poverty right here in South Central Nebraska.
The commitment:
✨ 2-3 hours online training + 4 hours in-person
✨ Meetings every other Monday, 5:30-7:30 pm (April 2026 - January 2027)
What you'll gain:
❤️ Lasting relationships across all walks of life
❤️ The chance to truly impact someone's journey
❤️ A supportive community lifting each other up
