Area 17 Presidents met with Area Director Suellen Jones today in the conference room of the Georgia Retired Educators Museum. It was great having so many smiling faces in the building.

We had a GREA-T time at the GREA 66th Annual Convention in Augusta. The banquet featured The Playback Collective and many enjoyed dancing including the wait staff. 😊🎶 This year our unit earned 9 awards at the Awards Breakfast on Wednesday. Wohoo! 🥳🤣

The May 5th meeting was a busy one. We awarded three $1000 scholarships to 3 Hart County HS Students: ⭐️Elijah Lloyd, ⭐️Delana Rice, and 🍎Camarion Verdell. The ⭐️Star Teachers were also recognized and each given a gift card: Mr. Luke Christopher and Mr. Alan Tolbert.

We also thanked Ms. Lee at Casa Grande for taking good care of us each month. We love her smile! 😊

We also recognized two of our hardworking and resigning officers: GT Myers and Daneen Atkins. Lastly, we installed two new officers: Angie Gurley as vice president and Pam Carroll as secretary. Wow! 🤩
