🎓 The GI Bill isn’t the only way to pay for college. These scholarships for military and veteran kids are free to apply for.

⏰ DUE OCT. 31: VFW Voice of Democracy (grades 9–12, up to $35,000) and Patriot’s Pen (grades 6–8, up to $5,000). Open to ANY student, no GPA needed. Theme: “What a Veteran Taught Me About America.” Enter at a local VFW post.

👨‍👩‍👧 Kids or grandkids of any veteran: AMVETS, $4,000 (high school seniors)

🪪 Military ID holders (active, Guard/Reserve, retired, deceased): Fisher House, $2,000. Opens in December.

🎖️ Rated 100% P&T (post-9/11): Heroes’ Legacy, $2,000. Opens in December.

🎖️ Rated 50%+ (post-9/11): American Legion Legacy, up to $5,000. Opens Jan. 1.

Our bingo on Thursday night was to benefit the NE Georgia animal shelter. We had a great turnout and lots of supplies for the shelter were donated. They were delivered to the shelter on Friday.

MEMBERSHIP MONDAY - MAKE MALTA SHINE!

The first step to making MALTA SHINE for you is activating and using it! I promise if you haven't been using Malta once you start you will be glad you did. There is a wealth of information available designed to help individual auxiliary members and officers at all levels.

MALTA PROFILE - I want to encourage all of our members to review their profile information in Malta and make sure it is both accurate and complete. The information on your profile transfers to various reports generated by Malta. If your email is missing or incorrect it will prevent you from receiving important emails sent by the Department or National Organization. Our Department Secretary and I have both received multiple invalid email address messages after attempting to email time sensitive information to members. Overall, only 41% of our Department Members currently even have an email address on their Malta profile. That means 59% of you will miss out on important news sent via email. Your profile area is also where you can subscribe to receiving the National Auxiliary E-Magazine.

DUTIES - This tab will only be displayed if you serve as an officer at any level. It will list resources and reports that will assist you in your specific officer position.

MEMBER RESOURCES - Here every member can find the following:

• Podium Edition Bylaws & Ritual book
• National Program book
• Building on the VFW Auxiliary Foundation
• Full page of resource items specific for every Auxiliary Program.
• National Convention Proposed, Adopted & Defeated Resolutions
• National Headquarters Staff

VIEW CARD - At the very top right of the Malta portal is where you can view, print or download your membership card.

ANNUAL MEMBERS - On the right of the blue bar on the top of the portal page in red you will find the option to pay your annual dues or convert to a life membership. The Convert to Life option will be the only option visible when you have already paid your current annual dues.

CANCER GRANTS - The VFW Auxiliary offers cancer grants to members who are battling cancer. The grant amount is currently $550.00 and funds are paid directly to the member. Application with eligibility requirements and instructions is available right here in Malta.

If you haven't yet activated Malta, you can do so by going to https://malta.vfwauxiliary.org/Account/NewLogin click on Activate Account and complete the requested information.

Members that already have an active Malta account, PLEASE take a moment to REVIEW YOUR PROFILE and make sure your address, phone number and email information is accurate. Reporting any of these contact changes to the Department Secretary for our Roster will NOT update them in your Malta account. We need to keep Malta updated ourselves.

Malta is a resource available to us and only truly SHINES when we use it and keep our profile information current!
