We advocate on behalf of Black women and girls in Anne Arundel MD. The Anne Arundel Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.

services the greater Anne Arundel County vicinity. Members are professional women with a desire to advocate for health, education, and economic empowerment of Black women. The programmatic focus of the Anne Arundel County Chapter includes:

EDUCATION

Currently, the Chapter is engaged with the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) in reviewing the Maryland State Assessment Tests as its impact on African American students. The chapter also sponsors an Annual Youth Awards Program that provides recognition of the scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership of the youth in this community. Scholarships are awarded each year to students attending Anne Arundel County schools, and who meet the criteria of specific scholarship categories. With the large number of women returning to the workforce, the chapter also awards an Adult Scholarship to women who are pursuing degrees that will further enhance their education and marketable skills. The Chapter hosts an Annual Health Fair and other activities, highlighting the issues which impact the physical and mental well being of the African American population. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Chapter members serve on various community boards and committees in order to keep abreast of issues and activities affecting the African American community. The chapter acts as a strong advocate in the community for laws, programs and ideas that will enhance the lives of individuals and families within Anne Arundel County. POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT

The Chapter participates, in a non-partisan manner, with activities on the local, state and national level to promote voter awareness, education and empowerment.

Today, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Anne Arundel County Chapter pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the victims, the first responders who courageously ran toward danger, the families whose lives were forever changed, and all those who answered the call to serve in the days and years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the strength, courage, compassion, and unity shown during one of our nation’s darkest moments.

May we honor their memory not only with our words, but through acts of kindness, service, and care for one another.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month, and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Anne Arundel County Chapter, stands committed to breaking the silence surrounding mental health in our community. 💜🩵

For too long, Black women and girls have been taught to carry every burden silently. We are told to be strong, to endure, and to push through. But true strength lies in choosing to heal, seeking support, and lifting one another up.

🖤💛 NCBW STANDS WITH NORTHWEST INDIANA 💛🖤

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Anne Arundel County Chapter stands in solidarity with our NCBW sisters, their families, and the communities across Northwest Indiana impacted by the recent severe storms.

As families continue to navigate widespread power outages, property damage, loss of food and other necessities, and the difficult road toward recovery, we are reminded of the strength of our sisterhood. When one of us is affected, we all feel it.

We are keeping our sisters in East Chicago, Hammond, Dyer, Merrillville, Crown Point, and surrounding communities lifted in prayer. May they be surrounded by protection, strength, resources, and the support they need in the days ahead.

To our Northwest Indiana sisters: Anne Arundel County stands with you. You are not alone. 🖤💛
