PAAR Dartmouth

PAAR Dartmouth Our mission is to harness the competitive spirit of Greek Rush to reposition philanthropy as a major pillar of the Greek system.

During fall term, pledge classes at participating Greek houses will have the entire period to engage in fundraising activities. Pledges will organize each house's efforts, including designing and participating in all activities with the assistance of existing Greek members. At the end of pledge term, the highest performing Greek houses and individuals will win cash awards, and PAAR will donate the

raised funds to selected causes. For the 2012 competition, all proceeds will benefit the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock through the CHaD Hero Half-Marathon and Ripcord 5K, which will take place on October 21, 2012. Positive Tracks will double every dollar that Greek houses raise. For more information:

In 2011, Greek houses raised a total of $18,858.09 for our two beneficiaries— WISE, an organization in Lebanon, NH, that provides services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, as well as those in Vermont still suffering from the effects of Tropical Storm Irene. The competition is targeted at the pledges to achieve two goals: 1) to foster bonding within and amongst Greek houses through community service participation, 2) to make philanthropy a fun, competitive, and prominent part of pledge term in order to instill a spirit of philanthropy within the Greek community for each successive generation.
