October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of screening and early detection.

Breast cancer doesn't always come with noticeable symptoms. As Laura's story reminds us, mammograms can detect breast cancer before a lump can be felt or symptoms appear. Regular mammograms can help find breast cancer early, when it's often easier to treat.

Don't wait for symptoms. Talk to your healthcare provider about when to schedule your mammogram, stay up to date on recommended screenings, and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Early detection can save lives!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Preparing for Aging event, presented in collaboration with UP Health System – Portage!

UGL providers Dr. Zainab Almahrous and Zachary Roloff, PA-C, discussed important topics related to healthy aging, including bone health and osteoporosis, fall prevention, and the difference between normal aging and when to talk with your provider.

Remember these five habits that can have a big impact on healthy aging:
