The next Image Masters event has been scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Journal Record. We will have a photo show (viewing) of digital images on the large screen television. Image Masters are invited to bring 10-12 photos on a flash drive from any of the group shoots this year (First Responders at Mock Wreck, Buttahatchee River Fall Fest or the recent Downtown Revisit with John Dersham).

If you didn’t make any of the group shoots, you are still welcome to bring any 10-12 images you’d like to share. The show begins around 5:15-5:30 p.m. or whenever you can get there after work. We’ll be set up in the back. We will order a few pizzas and everyone can contribute a $5 bill or an amount of their choosing. If you don’t like pizza, bring a brown bag meal or eat before you arrive.

Our photo shows have always been one of the most enjoyable parts of being with this group. Many members even say it’s their favorite experience. Please make plans to join us. We look forward to seeing everyone there. We will get started promptly while we eat as it does take time to view everyone’s photos.

Please text or call Chazz in the next few days on her cell or at the paper at 205-921-3104 and let her know: Cheese, Pepperoni or Super Supreme to give us an idea of how many pizzas to order of each type. Please don’t reply to this email as replies go out to every single person all over again. If you prefer, you CAN forward this email with your pizza selection to [email protected] and PJ will pass along your preference. THANK you!

Also of note: The mother of the boy and girl in the laundromat is Cheyenne at 901-497-5494 and she would like copies of photos of her children, please.

We spoke to John Dersham this morning and he is so excited to see everyone again after such a long time. He is asking for “full attendance” and for everyone to bring along a friend.

For our night-shooting lab on Friday night, he said part of his program will address low light shooting and setting cameras appropriately. He also said to bring a tripod, along with a cable release (older camera) or a remote shutter release (newer digital cameras) if you have these.

REMINDERS: Bring a print or two to share.
Also, for members, please bring a soup, a finger food or a dessert.

PLACE: Journal Record
TIME: 5:30 p.m.
DATE: Friday, Nov. 8
AGENDA: Seminar and meal, followed by a night-shooting lab downtown.

PLACE: Millhouse

REMINDER For Nov. 8-9 John Dersham Seminar/Shoot

Bring yourself, bring your camera, bring a guest, bring some food (see below), bring your own beverage (we will have spring water), and let’s have the best Image Masters Weekend we’ve had in YEARS!

We’re meeting at the Journal Record on Friday, Nov. 8 at 5:30 p.m., although if you’re bringing food, come on in and let’s get set up. We are asking all our members to please bring something--a soup dish, some finger foods or a dessert. The seminar is FREE to us and our guests and we are SO grateful (thank you arts council for sponsoring John to come and teach and shoot), but we do need to pitch in on grub.

You can also bring a print or two to share with others. We won’t have time this weekend for a video photo review, but we will schedule one soon to view the photos we take together!

John will speak on manual settings Friday and then we’ll go downtown to practice what we’ve learned and have a night-shooting lab session. Bring your tripod for this segment, if you wish.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, John will start shooting at dawn as he usually does, but the group shoot won’t begin until 7 a.m. We’re meeting at the Millhouse (228 1st St. SW) where everyone can grab a quick coffee and danish and then we’ll get started following the master en masse as we photograph downtown like we did way back when… except now it’s been revitalized and we’re all a few years older... and maybe even better.

Hello Fellow Image Masters!

It’s one of your behind-the-scenes helpers here reminding everyone of our group shoot next weekend, Saturday, October 26, at the Buttahatchee River Fall Fest shooting coverage for the Journal Record, for ourselves and for fun!

We’re meeting (promptly) at 11 a.m. at the car show near the Hamilton High School. Find Marla and stand with her until we all get there - which hopefully won’t take long. We’ll grab the group photos first (silly and serious) and then plan our next move together. Thank you! Hope to see you there!

Big News!

Hello Image Masters!

As you may have heard, our founding partner and mentor, John Dersham is set to return to Hamilton the weekend of Nov. 8-9. Friday’s fun starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Journal Record where we’ll have a brief presentation on manual settings, followed by a night-shooting lab session with the master in downtown Hamilton. Some members will be bringing crock pots of soup dishes, while others will be bringing accompaniments and desserts. Ya’ll discuss amongst yourselves! (Bring food a few minutes early for set up, if possible.)

Saturday’s fun begins at 7 a.m. at the Millhouse where we’ll join John for a quick cup of coffee before heading out to shoot as a group and follow his every move throughout our downtown area, revisiting the scene of our very first shoot in the same (but revitalized) location.

ALSO, the Image Masters have been invited to shoot the Buttahatchee River Fall Fest for the Journal Record on Saturday, Oct. 26. We’ll meet promptly at 11 a.m. at the car show on (or near) Aggie Avenue in front the high school. Find Marla Minter, who is working the car show, and gather near her. We will be using one of the cars as a prop for our group shoot, possibly an antique hearse? Who knows?

We HOPE to see YOU ALL there!
