Roger Ed Haney, age 77, of Guin passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his residence. He was born on May 22, 1949 in Brilliant, Alabama to John Willam and Autie May Beasley Haney. Roger spent much of his working career with Winfield Cotton Mill and later worked as a service driver for area mobile home plants. He was known for his outgoing personality, wonderful sense of humor, and his ability to bring a smile to those around him. Roger never met a stranger and truly enjoyed visiting with others and brightening their day. Music was an important part of Roger’s life. A talented guitar player, he spent many of his younger years traveling and playing with various bands. He also had a great love for horses and especially enjoyed raising and training them.
Roger is survived by his wife, Fronda Haney; sisters, Wanda Taylor and Debra Finch (Wayne); his special sister-in-law Mable Haney with whom he was very close; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents John and Autie Haney; brothers, Dallas, Maurice, Ellis, and Kermit Haney; and sisters, Hattie Bell White, Melba Pollard, Joyce Perry, and Billie Miles.
Funeral services for Mr. Haney will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 12:00 noon from the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Cooper cemetery near Hamilton. The visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon service time at the funeral home.
