Mr. George Ververides- everyone’s #1 FAN and mentor. For YEARS AND DECADES he has always been there for the Youth and every other ministry of the Church. (He even has perfect attendance at Philoptochos meetings!) May God bless “Mr. Verv” and keep him well so he can keep loving all of us and may we all continue to learn from his Christian example!! (Photos from away games at Piscataway on Sunday, Oct. 18).

A moment of profound grace, spiritual joy, and fear of God. I humbly welcome the news from His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew that, with His counsel and paternal recommendation, I have been elected by the Holy and Sacred Synod as the Metropolitan of New Jersey of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

I am eternally grateful for this blessed honor.

Knowing the weight of this calling, I step into this sacred ministry trusting entirely in God’s mercy and the prayers of each and every one of you.

The day of my election fell on none other than the birthday of Saint Nektarios of Aegina who is my Great-Grand Geronda, and the feast day of the icon closest to my heart, Panagia Gorgoepikoos, which is housed at the monastery where I was tonsured a monk on Mount Athos.

With profound gratitude and humility, I earnestly thank God who is all love, our Most Holy Theotokos, Saint Paisios the Athonite, and my patron Saint Ephraim of Katounakia.

Evermore thanks to my unwavering loved ones near and far who have stood by me to this very day.
