It is with deep regret that the officers and members of the Tabernacle Fire Department announce the passing of a great friend, mentor, and fellow fire fighter, Rudy Saldan. Rudy was an active and long time member of Station 431. Over the past four decades of volunteering Rudy has held multiple positions both operationally and administratively which will leave an everlasting impression.

In the coming days we will share more regarding arrangements and his service to the people of Tabernacle. We ask that you keep the Saldan family in your prayers.

***Meet Your Member Monday***
Past Chief/Firefighter Andy Cunard
Andy joined the Medford Farms Fire Company in 2008 prior to it becoming Tabernacle Fire Company, after having served as a firefighter in Deptford Fire Department with the Almonesson Fire Company that he joined as a Jr. Firefighter where he also served as a Fire Commissioner for the Fire District. Andy also is a past member of Indian Mills Volunteer Fire Company Station 281 prior to coming to Tabernacle. Upon joining Tabernacle, Andy would quickly become a valued asset to the residents of Tabernacle, not only as a firefighter, but as a teacher for the Lenape School District at Senaca and a local football coach for our youth. Andy would go on to move up the ranks of TFC, serving as Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Fire Chief and finally being elected as Fire Chief in 2020. Chief Cunard would only serve in this position for a short period due to time commitments that were keeping him overly busy. Chief Cunard today is still a very active Firefighter, who was instrumental in the participation of TFC with the Burlington County Technical Rescue Team With his 37 years of firefighter experience. Firefighting is instilled in the Cunard family; numerous generations of firefighters including his 2 sons, who are current members of Tabernacle Fire Company’s Special Operations Team. Chief Cunard is someone that the members of TFC #1 can turn to for guidance at a moments notice and Chief Cunard never falls short of a lending hand whatever the need may be. The members of fire company thank you Chief Cunard for all you have done, continue to do and will do in the future for the company and its members, thank you for your leadership and friendship!

Last night at our monthly meeting our volunteers checked with the Big Man himself to make sure he was still able to make his rounds through Tabernacle with the Squad. He assured us that we meet all precautions and this "Tabernacle Tradition" will remain alive in 2020!

Mark your calendars! December 16th-18th 6pm-9:30pm each night Santa will tour Tabernacle with the Rescue Squad. As in years past we will do our best to cover each street in town with the exception of our unpaved roadways and select dead ends that are two small for our Big Blue Sleigh to navigate safely.

Friday night is also the conclusion of this years first ever Tabernacle Holiday Decoration contest and we can't think of a better way to share the joy of the season with our friends, families, and neighbors!

2020 has been a trying year for many but just like your dedicated Rescue Squad volunteers; Santa is here to stay!

Check out the map this year for each evening here: https://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/Tabernacle_Township_Santa_Route/Sanata

And follow us here, on Twitter, and on Instagram for updates and a GPS tracker for our updated each evening of the tour!

We can't wait to see you!
