🎉 Crescent City Family Services is Bringing WIC Back to Plaquemines Parish! 🎉

Today’s Healthy Eating During the Holidays event was a wonderful success! Our community enjoyed a beautiful, colorful Savory Salad and informative presentation by Dr. Emelia Clement, PhD, with the LSU AgCenter.

The event was well attended and provided an opportunity to connect with community partners, share nutrition education, distribute valuable resources, and offer exciting giveaways.

A special THANK YOU to Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and the community partners, and everyone who helped make today possible!

We are especially grateful for the generous contributions, including backpacks, can openers, Louisiana WIC MyPlate placemats and cups, UHC blood pressure cuffs, beautiful CCFS ceramic MyPlates, recipe books, and more!

We are excited to reconnect with the Plaquemines Parish community and look forward to bringing WIC services back to the parish. ❤️

💜 PILLOW OF PEACE 2026 💜

Crescent City Family Services is excited to kick off our 19th Annual Pillow of Peace Drive, taking place October 8th–November 6th!

This year, our goal is to collect 100 new, standard-size pillows and $500 in monetary donations to provide comfort to women and children staying in local women’s shelters. 🛏️💜

A pillow may seem like a small gift, but for someone leaving an unsafe situation, it can be a little piece of comfort—something that belongs to them and a reminder that someone they may never meet is wishing them peace, safety, and brighter days ahead.

The Regular Baptist Church Health Ministry Annual Health & Wellness Fair brought together a host of vendors offering valuable health resources, screenings, and educational opportunities to support community wellness.

Keynote speaker Dr. Robert Hoover, a Tulane nephrologist, shared a wealth of information on kidney disease, current research, and opportunities to identify, prevent, and address chronic kidney disease.
