There are two warming centers for residents in Jefferson Parish at Terrytown Playground (641 Heritage Avenue, Terrytown, LA 70056) and the Ree Alario Multi-Purpose Center (6900 Saints Drive, Metairie, LA 70003).

These centers will remain open for people and pets in need of a warm place during the cold. Residents with pets are asked to bring a pet carrier. The Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority will also assist individuals living outdoors seek temporary shelter.

Those with questions or in need of transportation to the warming centers can contact the Jefferson Parish Emergency Operations Center at (504) 349-5360.

LANE CLOSURE

Manhattan Boulevard

At 11th Street

JEFFERSON, LA – Both lanes of Manhattan Boulevard at 11th Street will have single lane closures in both directions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, January 26 to Friday, February 13, 2026. Motorists will use available lanes.

This closure is necessary to construct pedestrian ramps to cross Manhattan Boulevard. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, February 13, 2026, weather permitting.

LANE CLOSURE

Wright Avenue

Between Terry Parkway and Hector Avenue

JEFFERSON, LA – The east side of Wright Avenue between Terry Parkway and Hector Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. Monday, January 12 through 5 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026. Motorists should use the road on the west side of the canal.

This closure is necessary for roadway, sidewalk and drainage improvements. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, May 22, 2026, weather permitting.

LANE CLOSURE
Lapalco Boulevard
Between Manhattan Boulevard and Bellemeade Boulevard

JEFFERSON, LA – One lane of eastbound Lapalco Boulevard between Manhattan Boulevard and Bellemeade Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. Friday, December 26 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The entire lane will not be closed the entire time, the lane closure will move as work progresses. U-turns will be closed in immediate construction areas. Motorists will use available lanes.

This closure is necessary to install sewer force main on the median. Work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, July 1, 2026, weather permitting.
