Hoosier FWD, Inc.

Hoosier FWD, Inc. Hoosier FWD was inspired by our son Gage who was born with Hydrocephalus & Spasticity. We also quickly learned that we were not alone.

We quickly learned how medical bills can pile up and soon become overwhelming. Hoosier FWD is a non-profit foundation

2023 Hoosier FWD Giving tree is almost complete!

We have a few tags that we are waiting to be returned. If you took a tag off the giving tree this year at Dye's Walk Country Club please reach out so we can pick up the gifts BEFORE THURSDAY EVENING.

Thank you to everyone that took a tag and helped us bring Christmas to 89 kiddos that would not have had a Christmas without your help!

Our first SuperKarts! USA SuperNats in Las Vegas took this kid to a new level, which is why we went in the first place.

Carson didn’t make the final main event which was his goal, but he did race against the WORLDS BEST for 4 days straight and will be a different driver next season because of it.

So grateful to the entire GP Karts USA team for continuing to help Carson grow and excel in this sport.

We have so many people to thank, including some of his incredible sponsors who continue to believe in him and make more of these national competitions a possibility.

He also turned 16 during this race weekend in Vegas so will soon be driving cars. We hope that one day, it’s the kind of car that goes about 230mph around an oval in Indianapolis, Indiana!

Keep dreaming big Carson and putting in the work!

What inspired us to start Hoosier FWD

Our son Gage was born with a genetic condition known as Hydrocephalus. Since then he has also been diagnosed with Hypertonia, Dystonia (Spasticity), Cerebral Palsy, Abducted thumbs, Hip Dysplasia, EOE & MTHFR. We have been fortunate to have an amazing support system allowing us to provide the best care for Gage. Our Inspiration to “Pay It Forward” came from a single donation from Pat McAfee when he hosted a contest to give back to a city that had given him so much.

Like many other families, we were told that we did not qualify for medical assistance because of his diagnosis or because we made too much money. Medical bills started piling up and we weren't sure what to do. The Christmas of 2012 Pat McAfee decided he wanted to give back to the city that had given hi so much; he asked for a 60 second video of “What Christmas Means to Me”. Out of all of the entries he chose our family. Then in 2014, a group of friends came together to help us raise money for Gage's medical bills by hosting a kickball tournament. We realized how lucky we were to have this support system, and created Hoosier FWD to be that support system for the other families out there like us.

Many thanks to all of our supporters, past golf outing participants, kickball participants, friends and family! Since we started our non-profit foundation we have been able to help several local families in similar situations. Insurance does not consider what is in the best interest of the child, so parents are left with making a tough decision. All because of your donations we have been able to help several families… 5 kids were able to attend a week long Sensory Skills Camp (second year), purchased an adaptive tricycle for a young boy and his family plus so much more. Thank you for your ongoing support; we hope to continue paying it forward one family at a time.
