Our mission is to enhance and support local businesses, create a welcoming community, and preserve the charm of our historic district. Our goal is to gain support for the preservation/restoration of old town Greenwood, Indiana and specifically the commercial district located on Main St. We would love to have a thriving and revitalized Old Town Greenwood with our existing historic buildings. What happens when you hand a paintbrush to a community?

Something pretty amazing. 🦋🎨

At our inaugural Arts in Old Town, community members of all ages helped paint the first two wings of IMAGO, our new public art installation coming to Old Town Greenwood.

Add in live music, talented local artists, great food, unique shops, and neighbors connecting with neighbors, and it was a wonderful evening celebrating the creativity and spirit of our community.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, painted, shopped, dined, listened, volunteered, and helped make the evening special. You are literally helping create a piece of Greenwood history.

The thank-yous just keep coming! ❤️🎨

Today, we want to recognize two talented individuals who generously donated their time and talents to help make our first Arts in Old Town a success: Charrie of Photog Boss, LLC and Phil of Visitor Watch Co..

While many attendees were enjoying the art, music, and activities, Charrie and Phil were hard at work behind the camera capturing the moments that made the day so special. Thanks to their volunteer efforts, we now have an incredible collection of photos and content that allows us to relive the event and share it with our community.

If you've seen a stunning photo or professional-looking image on our social media recently, there's a good chance it was taken by one of them!

Arts in Old Town was built on the support of community members who believe in celebrating local art and bringing people together, and Charrie and Phil exemplify that spirit. We are so grateful for their willingness to share their talents and help tell the story of this inaugural event.

Today, we're celebrating a true Old Town Greenwood institution! 🎉✂️

Congratulations to Tom's Barbershop on 70 years of serving our community. For generations, Tom's has been more than a place to get a haircut—it's been a place where community thrives.

To mark this incredible milestone, Tom's Barbershop is offering **$1.50 haircuts from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM**, with all proceeds benefiting the **Greenwood Education Foundation**. Then, join them for an **Open House from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM** to celebrate seven decades of history, memories, and community impact.

We have so many people to thank for making our first Arts in Old Town a success, and today we want to shine a light on Duane.

Duane, President of the Southside Art League, not only leads one of the most impactful arts organizations on the southside, but he also created the Arts in Old Town logo that helped bring this entire project to life. His creativity and support set the tone for what this event is becoming, and we are incredibly grateful for his partnership.

We’re lucky to have the Southside Art League (SALI) right here in Old Town Greenwood. SALI has been part of our creative landscape for decades, supporting artists, offering classes and workshops, and hosting exhibitions that bring our community together through art.

If you’re not familiar with SALI, it’s worth getting connected. The best way to stay in the loop is by visiting their website and signing up for their newsletter so you can see upcoming exhibits, classes, and events they’re bringing to our area. They continue to make Old Town a more vibrant and inspiring place to live, work, and visit.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Kris 🌟

For the past two years, Kris has been a dedicated volunteer with Old Town Greenwood, Inc., lending a hand both at our events and behind the scenes. From helping onsite during community events to working tirelessly to get our organization featured on community calendars and in local media, her efforts help us reach more people and make a greater impact.

We asked Kris what drives her to volunteer with Old Town Greenwood, Inc.:

💬 "I moved to Greenwood in 2017 not knowing anyone in this state, other than my husband. I have volunteered in the past, as well as worked for non-profits that relied heavily on volunteers. I know that volunteering is a great opportunity to make connections within your community and that volunteers have the power to create change.

I became interested in Old Town Greenwood, Inc. because I have an appreciation for historic buildings and neighborhoods and believe in preserving these communities. Volunteering for Old Town Greenwood, Inc. has allowed me to connect with others who are like-minded and share similar interests and passions."
