For more than 20 years, Feed Your Neighbor Community Food Pantry has provided emergency food assistance to individuals and families in our community, helping ensure neighbors have access to food when they need it most.

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Food Lion’s wonderful Mid-Atlantic CES Team to volunteer with us at Feed Your Neighbor!

We truly enjoyed having you serve alongside us and seeing the impact you made for our neighbors.

Thank you, Food Lion, for all you do to give back and support our community. We appreciate y’all and are so grateful for your continued support of Feed Your Neighbor!

🎁 Toys for Tots is back! 🎄
Koinonia Community Solutions is proud to serve as a donation site for the 2026 Toys for Tots program! If you have a Pitt County child ages 0–12, you can request a toy by completing an application online or in print.

Important Medicaid Changes Are Coming in 2027!!

NC Medicaid is sharing information about new federal requirements that take effect January 1, 2027. For many adults ages 19–64, maintaining full Medicaid coverage may require meeting new work and community engagement requirements, such as working, attending school, volunteering, or other approved activities. There are also a number of important exceptions.

If you or someone you know receives Medicaid, now is the time to learn what’s changing and whether the new requirements apply to you.

Please take a few minutes to review the attached information, keep your contact information current with DSS, and pay close attention to any notices you receive.

Most importantly, help us spread the word. Share this with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who may be impacted. We want our residents to have the information they need well before these changes take effect.

This Saturday at South Greenville Park!!

The HealthAssist Uninsured Network's free series of educational events to help our eastern North Carolina (ENC) neighbors learn about access to medical care, insurance coverage and ECU Health job opportunities continues tomorrow in PITT and LENOIR counties, in Greenville and in Kinston.

Click the paired flyers below for all immediate September dates, times and locations for those four counties.

Additional sessions in other ENC counties will also be posted here, as we get closer to their own start dates, including dates being scheduled for later months as well.

💙 THANK YOU, NEIGHBORS & VOLUNTEERS! 💙

Yesterday was definitely a day of trial and error as we tested our new distribution process, but overall, things went very smoothly!

To our neighbors, thank y’all so much for your patience, understanding, and flexibility especially while waiting in the heat. We know change can take some getting used to, and we truly appreciate you working with us as we figure out what works best.

And to our AMAZING volunteers THANK YOU! 🫶🏾 Thank you for showing up, jumping into new roles, going with the flow, and doing whatever was needed to make the day successful. We truly could not do this work without you.

We’re still learning, adjusting, and improving, but our goal remains the same: to serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and love.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up week after week for Feed Your Neighbor Community Food Pantry.

We appreciate y’all. We love y’all. And we’re grateful to serve alongside you. 💙
