Crown Point Lodge #708 AF & AM Forging Leaders. Preserving Legacy. Building Better Men. In 1717, the Grand Lodge of England was established.

Crown Point Masonic Lodge #708 is a Regular and Recognized masonic lodge located in Greenville, North Carolina adjacent to East Carolina University. Chartered on April 17, 1957 through the Grand Lodge of NC, AF&AM, it is recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England. For the past 300 years, Freemasonry has helped to "Make Good Men Better" through its teaching and promotion of Friendship, Morality, and Brotherly Love. The Masons have extended these principals into their communities through Faith, Hope, and Charity. This is exemplified in our various fundraisers and relentless support of the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, and WhiteStone. Additionally, many brothers become Shriners and are part of the "World's Greatest Philanthropy" by providing healthcare to burned and crippled children regardless of a family's ability to pay. Every Mason joins for different reasons: building friendships, improving character, or practicing charity to name a few. Regardless of the reason, it is a decision a man must make for himself and reach out to a Mason and express their interest to join.

At Crown Point 708, it is our goal at every meeting to provide a great meal, great fellowship, and a topic/discussion that makes “Good Men Better.” That was achieved last night.

Freemasonry is a lifestyle. It’s a life of service to our community and our fellow man, encouraging others who spread their light in the world to continue that work, and a lifelong practice of doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

Thank you to Bro. David Webb of Doric 568 for his presentation, “Why Good Men Serve Their Communities,” and for inspiring a great discussion among the brethren.

We were also honored to have Bro. Chad Bogdahn of Doric 568, whose enthusiasm for Freemasonry is infectious, as well as Bro. Gavin Gregory, an Entered Apprentice from Shallotte 727, join us for the evening. We thank you all who were in attendance and we will meet again on October 22nd!

Congratulations to Brothers Chris and Jeff Hoedt, father and son, on joining the York Rite last Saturday! (Pictured on the left and right)

It’s great to see two generations of Masons continuing their Masonic journey together and taking the next step in their degrees and education.

If you’re a Master Mason and have been thinking about getting involved in the York Rite, we encourage you to take that next step. There’s a lot of good Masonry to be found there, and even better brothers to share it with.

Come join us this Thursday evening for our Stated Communication of Crown Point 708.

We have a great meal lined up at 6:30 PM featuring Apple Pork Tenderloin and Pineapple Pork Tenderloin, along with all the sides and desserts.

After dinner, we will have a special guest speaker, Bro. David Webb of Doric 568 in New Bern. Bro. Webb is an engaging speaker and will be leading a talk and discussion on “Why Good Men Are Drawn to Community Service.”

We will also have a brief update on the happenings at the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge.

We look forward to seeing you for another “sacred retreat of friendship and brotherly.”

The 239th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina, A.F. & A.M., has concluded. Crown Point 708 was well represented by MWB Billy Dill, PGM/Chairman of the Committee on Jurisprudence/Illustrious Grand Master of the Council of Cryptic Masons; WB John Burns, Senior Grand Steward; WB Jim Antinore, Master; WB David Wilkes, Senior Warden; WB John Hill, Junior Warden/Grand Chaplain of the Council of Cryptic Masons; Bro. Jeff Hoedt, 708’s newest Master Mason; and WB Justin Robinson, Grand Sword Bearer/Secretary.

WB Hill addressed the delegation and shared the details of our recent consolidation. Afterwards, WBs Hill, Burns, and Robinson answered questions from the brethren about the consolidation process and shared our positive experience throughout the process.

WB John Burns, Senior Grand Steward, was advanced by RWB Gilbert Bailey, Deputy Grand Master and Grand Master-Elect, to serve as the 2027 Grand Marshal. We are all proud of the work WB Burns continues to perform to further Freemasonry in North Carolina, and we eagerly look forward to the work yet to come!

Your lodge was well represented at the Annual Communication, we thank you all for your continued faithfulness to the Craft, and we look forward to the work yet to come in spreading the light of Freemasonry in the coming year.

We had a great and informative meeting last night at Crown Point 708!

Bro. Dr. Chris Hoedt, MD gave an excellent talk on men’s health, maintaining mobility, and the importance of a clean diet so we can be our best selves for those around us and continue our work as Freemasons.

The brethren asked many great questions, and Bro. Chris provided thoughtful and informative answers. Thank you, Brother, for sharing your knowledge with us!

Join us this Thursday night for the Stated Communication of Crown Point 708.

Dinner will served at 6:30 PM, and will be beef stew with rice and dessert.

During the meeting, Bro. Dr. Chris Hoedt, MD, will be giving a talk on men’s health and taking questions from the brethren. Bro. Hoedt is an orthopedic surgeon, an officer in the US Army Reserves, a veteran of Syria, and a member of 708. We look forward to having him share his knowledge and experience with us.

Come enjoy a good meal, fellowship with your brethren, and an informative discussion on an important topic.

Join us this Thursday, August 27th for our Stated Communication of Crown Point 708. MWB Billy Dill will serving a meal of BBQ Brisket with scalloped potatoes and pickled green beans at 6:30 PM.

Following dinner, we will have our meeting at 7:30 PM. WB Dr. Rev. John Hill will present a talk titled, “Treasure in the Field.” Sometimes we have to take the good with bad, but is the treasure worth it?

Come join us for another evening of fellowship and “seeking further light in masonry.”
