Our Annual Schwa Show is coming to an end. Make sure to see these incredible works of art.

What is the Schwa? It’s Emerge’s logo, ya know the upside down e! The first e in emerge sounds like an a instead of an e, the Schwa symbol denotes that in the dictionary pronunciation.

The Schwa Show itself is a National juried show, without a distinct theme - but a representation of overall excellence in all mediums. We love seeing the breadth of creativity and skill by the artists who participate.

Didn’t apply this year? No worries as the show will be back next fall. Check our website and socials for its release!

We love seeing our interns flourish! Our former summer intern, Holly, is preparing for her senior thesis, which will be an anti-AI magazine called "Humans Magazine." The magazine will work like a traditional arts magazine (showcasing local artists) while also promoting the discussion of AI and its ethical limitations through articles + commentary by the artists displayed in the magazine.

Holly is currently looking for artists willing to submit preexisting works for Humans and is super excited to include community members outside of the ECU realm.
