Onslow Community Outreach has a mission to be a helping hand for families and individuals by meeting the basic needs of vulnerable populations in Onslow County. Their vision is simply to inspire, empower and change lives. Their purpose is fulfilled through a free clinic, soup kitchen, homeless shelter and Christmas Cheer program.

We are excited to feature our December winner of Eastern NC Cares brought to you by the Ricci Law Firm Injury Lawyers. Our winner is Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern North Carolina!

RMHC of NC provides a temporary home, support and access to medical care for families of children who are receiving treatment from area medical facilities. Their Houses offer physical comforts and emotional support designed to promote the well-being of the whole family. This also helps keep families close to their child's medical care facility, and increases the ability for families to spend more time with their child, as well as interact with their clinical care team and participate in critical medical care decisions. It's a place for families to call home while their child is hospitalized or receiving treatment in area medical facilities.

The American Legion is the nation's most influential, effective and dependable advocate of veteran affairs fighting for better active-duty pay, improved housing for active-duty families, and helping to ensure that the VA's medical system can properly care for veterans. Post 539 hosts the March for the 22 every Nov 11to raise awareness to the veteran su***de epidemic and has enabled Post 539 to provide household finances and employment resources to over 100 active-duty, retired, discharged and disabled veterans within
Craven County.

Lacey’s Legacy is a cat rescue that was started in honor of her dog Lacey who was the best kitten foster mama. Through her love for beloved dog, Lacey’s Legacy saves kitties in the community that Lacey would have adored. Their mission is to find homes for homeless cats and help support local TNR (trap, neuter, return) groups to help reduce cat overpopulation, all while continuing Lacey’s legacy.

Cry Freedom Missions has a powerful team that reaches, rescues and restores survivors of human trafficking. Through may outreach efforts and partnerships with law enforcement, the organization locates survivors and helps them find safety at the Cry Freedom Missions home which includes an emergency shelter, long term care program, and a transitional home.

Noah’s Ark Pet Rescue’s only goal is to save as many animals lives as possible. The organization pulls animals from local animal shelters in surrounding counties and helps with hoarding situations being handled by animal control. When the local shelters are full they diligently try to step in and help relieve some of the burden from the shelters by fostering and helping these pets find their forever homes.

Children's Miracle Network hospitals was founded more than 40 years ago with the vision to Change Kids' Health, Change the Future. They have raised over $9 billion for 170 children's hospitals by empowering and engaging with local communities and businesses. All donations benefit local member hospitals to fund what's needed most, critical lifesaving treatments and health services, innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and financial assistance for families who could not otherwise afford these health services.
