North Carolina Poetry Society Since 1932 the North Carolina Poetry Society has existed as an all-volunteer organization especially for poets and friends of poetry.

For face-to-face meetings and workshops

The NCPS Board is committed to providing safe spaces for meeting together and to protecting the vulnerable. We strongly recommend indoor masking for all, regardless of vaccination status. If you do not wear a mask, please act responsibly and compassionately. Some attendees may be at high risk. Please do not attend in person events if you have had fever, COVID symptoms, or a positive test within the past 5 days.

Congratulations to Bridget Bell, the winner of the 2026 Brockman-Campbell Book Award for her collection, All That We Ask of You Is to Always Be Happy (CavanKerry Press, 2025)!

The judge this year was poet Matthew Lippman. Honorable mentions were awarded to Proud Roads by Kelly Riedesel, and Mackenzie Kozak’s no swaddle. Thanks to everyone who entered!

Thank you to our 2026 Pinesong Dedicatee Joan Barasovska for all of her valuable and innumerable contributions to the North Carolina Poetry Society and the field of poetry in North Carolina and beyond! Additionally, thank you to all of our awarded Pinesong Youth and Adult anthology winners, as well as all who were able to join us and share their poetry with us!

What a glorious day at Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities with NCPS!!! Special thanks to our board, interns, and volunteers for making this meeting of poetic minds a wonderful success!
