FOSSILS OF INDIANA: How old are fossils Indiana? They range in age from about 450 million years in southeast Indiana to 300 in southwest Indiana to the end of the Ice Age in the north half (as “young” as 12,000 years).

Where can I see fossils outside? Many Indiana State Parks have fossils. Just remember that collecting in parks is not allowed. Falls of the Ohio State Park and Clifty Falls State Park are well-known for fossils, but Monroe Lake, Versailles State Park, Brookville Lake-Whitewater Memorial State Park Complex and Patoka Lake have plenty. O'Bannon Woods State Park and Spring Mill State Park also have fossils, though they aren’t as obvious.
