Background of SEIHC
The biggest benefit of the Southeast Indiana Health Center is providing care to those who cannot afford it. The medical care that may be pieced together with visits to emergency rooms and urgent care visits will allow for one location to receive primary care for those who are struggling to pay for any care. According to Healthy People 2020, disparities in access to health servi

ces affect individuals and society. Limited access to health care impacts people's ability to reach their full potential, negatively affecting their quality of life. Barriers to services include lack of availability, high cost and lack of insurance coverage. These barriers to accessing health services lead to unmet health needs, delays in receiving appropriate care, inability to get preventive services and hospitalizations that could have been prevented. Through the Health Center, we hope to eliminate some of these barriers and the problems that they care create for those trying to receive needed healthcare. Many communities have benefited from the Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) clinics which have been found to enhance the community, not detract from it. We think the medically-under served in our area are also deserving of the benefits that a VIM clinic can bring to Franklin and Ripley County.

The Southeast Indiana Health Center is always looking for volunteers to help run the clinic. The clinic has been in operation since 2013 and was created to serve the local uninsured or under insured community. We use volunteers from all backgrounds, whether you're a nurse, doctor, medical assistant, physician assistant, or have only interacted with the healthcare system as a patient we could use your help.

We appear to be having some issues with our phone lines. We have learned that for some reason we are not receiving all of the voicemails that are being left. If you leave us a message and we don't respond please try again during our staffed hours. You can also email us at [email protected] but don't include detailed health information.

If you haven't noticed by our recent posts, the clinic is in the process of going through some BIG changes. Please have patience with us over the next few weeks/months as we navigate these changes. Our clinic hours may be limited for a little while but we will do our best to get everyone seen and get a more regular schedule established again soon. July clinic hours will be posted soon.

We are looking for a new manager! We are hoping to find a caring individual who is highly motivated and works well independently. This position comes with a lot of flexibility. Ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in the medical field. Leadership experience is not required. Are you a healthcare provider looking to make a little extra cash while giving back to the community?? We are currently looking for a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to staff the clinic one evening per week. We have some flexibility on day of the week and starting time.
