FOE Aerie #1130 Batesville The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization uniting fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality. The F.O.E.

was founded in February, 1898 by six theatre owners gathered in a Seattle shipyard to discuss a musician's strike. After addressing the matter, they agreed to "bury the hatchet" and form "The Order of Good Things." As numbers grew, members selected the Bald Eagle as the official emblem and changed the name to "The Fraternal Order of Eagles." The women's auxiliary traces its roots to 1927.

This year, we're proud to offer a special Veterans Float in the Batesville Fourth of July Parade.

The float is designed for veterans who would like to participate in the parade but may not be able to walk the route. Comfortable seating will be available so that veterans can be part of the celebration and be recognized for their service.

If you are a veteran, or know a veteran who would like to ride in the parade, please text 812-363-5592 for more information. Family members or friends are also welcome to ride alongside veterans.

We're also looking for volunteers who can arrive before the parade and stay afterward to help veterans safely board and exit the float. If you're interested in helping, please text 812-363-5592.

A special thank you to Allen Giesting, who is generously donating both the wagon and his time to make this possible. Allen will be driving his Spirit of '76 Case tractor and pulling the veterans float in this year's parade.

Let's work together to make sure the men and women who served our country can be part of this community celebration.
