The Franklin County Police Cadet Program is opening its doors, and we want YOU to join us!

Whether you’re considering a future career in law enforcement, interested in public safety, or simply looking for an opportunity to challenge yourself, develop leadership skills, and make a difference in your community, this is a great place to start!

Our cadets do a lot more than learn about police work. They gain hands-on experience, participate in realistic training scenarios, build confidence, and work alongside law enforcement professionals from across the region.

👥 Ages 13–20 | No experience necessary!

Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend!

You don't need to have your future figured out to get started. All you need is a willingness to learn, challenge yourself, and be part of something bigger.

Each year, countless law enforcement professionals from a variety of backgrounds generously donate their time to train, lead, and inspire the next generation. While they serve as advisors to our cadets, they are also some of the finest men and women in law enforcement. Ever wonder how we manage to bring 75+ public safety agencies and organizations together all in one place?! 🚒🚔🚑

It takes a tremendous amount of planning, coordination, and teamwork behind the scenes. Our annual Fall Public Safety Festival wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to bring it all together. Today, we want to recognize the planning team responsible for making this year’s event such a success!

Bringing 75+ agencies and organizations together doesn’t happen by accident. It takes months of communication, logistics, collaboration, and a team of people committed to making this event possible.

We are proud to announce that the Franklin County Police Cadets placed second overall at this year’s NERLEEA Tactical Challenge in Berlin, Connecticut! 🚔🏆

Each year, cadet posts from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York come together for team competitions that test their skills across a variety of law enforcement scenarios.

Our cadets also earned recognition in the following events:

🥇 1st Place – Officer Down
🥇 1st Place – Hostage Extraction
🥇 1st Place – Ambush Response
🥉 3rd Place – Narcotics Search Warrant

Congratulations to our cadets on an outstanding performance! Their hard work and dedication showed, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they accomplished together! 💙

Still reminiscing about another successful Fall Public Safety Festival! 🚔🚒

We’re grateful to all the agencies, community partners, and individuals who helped make this year’s event possible!

A special thank you to Sgt. Sullivan-Chin and Detective Lauren Bolduc of the Northampton Police Department for their hard work planning and coordinating the festival.

Thank you to Justin Pelis and Look Park for hosting us, and to the Northampton Police and Fire Departments for their continued support.

We also want to recognize Massachusetts State Trooper Jennifer Novak and Sgt. Ben Peters of the Leverett Police Department, whose dedication and efforts were instrumental in making this event possible.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Sheriff Streeter and the entire Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for their continued support of the Cadet Program, especially Corporal Katrina Amaral and Ashley Lipka for their assistance in planning and organizing the festival.

Finally, thank you to every agency and community member who joined us. It’s always great to see public safety professionals and the communities they serve come together!

Yesterday, FCPC had the pleasure of joining the South County Senior Center for their annual Car Show at Sunderland Elementary School! 🚗✨

This is always one of our cadets’ favorite annual events, and they were excited to help with parking, traffic, and community engagement throughout the day.

They had a great time checking out all of the incredible cars, lending a hand where needed, and connecting with members of the community. Thank you to the South County Senior Center for having us, our cadets are already looking forward to next year!

At the Franklin County Police Cadet Program, we are fortunate to have some of the finest advisors dedicated to supporting, mentoring, and guiding our cadets. Their commitment and leadership play a vital role in the success of our program.

For the 2026 Police Cadet Academy, our cadets were accompanied by five of our FCPC advisors throughout the week.

Thank you to Cpl. Milton Rock, Det. Alyssa Ippolito, Chief Jason Haskins, Sgt. Lee Laster, and Sgt. William Salifu-Tex, as well as their respective departments, for allowing them the opportunity to mentor and support our cadets at the Academy.

🎓 Congratulations to our 2026 NERLEEA Police Cadet Academy graduates!

This week, seven of our cadets successfully completed the Academy and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they accomplished. A special congratulations to newly appointed Cadet Captain, Tommy Nutting, on the “Officer of the Week” award for the Mock PD Program.

We’re proud of our four senior cadets, who returned to the Academy after graduating in previous years and continuing to lead by example.

We are especially proud and wish to recognize our three junior cadets, who took on the challenge of the Academy for the very first time and represented our program exceptionally well.
